**De labore Solis
(of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labour of the sun)
Hist.:Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain. He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary).**

Didn't I read on FR somewhere that there will be an eclipse of the sun sometime in November?

Gloria olivae

One cardinal touted as 'papabile' is French Cardinal Lustiger. He is of Jewish descent. Were he to be elected pope, he would fit the Gloria Olivae title perfectly. In his Letter to the Romans, Chapter 11:17-24, Paul describes God's possessors of the Covenant, Abraham's descendants, as a "cultivated olive tree". Gentile Christians are the wild olive branch from a wild olive tree, that has been grafted onto the original cultivated olive tree. Neither one, either Jew or Gentile, is considered better than the other, since Paul says neither group supports the roots. Regardless, if the Holy Father passes away and this French Cardinal or Bishop begins his reign, then we must look twice at St. Malachy's prophecies.

Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger

His mother was burned in the ovens of Auschwitz, yet he converted to Catholicism, rose to the zenith of power in the church, and could become its next leader. Gloria Olivae?

There is only one more enumeration in the actual prophecy so some think this means only one more Pope. Or maybe this means we start with another Holy See in a new location.

JP II has certainly had much solar activity during his time.

The same author tells us that St. Malachy gave his manuscript to Innocent II to console him in the midst of his tribulations, and that the document remained unknown in the Roman Archives until its discovery in 1590 (Cucherat, "Proph. de la succession des papes", ch. xv).

To claim that one merely "found" the manuscript rather than having written it oneself was an almost universal literary device at the time. Consider for example "Don Quixote" which was roughly contemporaneous.

I think that if we are truly Christians we are looking at this all wrong....true ...not true ...believe...not believe.....What do Christians do when they are not sure of what is correct?????? TURN TO THE BIBLE. So what does the bible say about prophecies. 1. the prophet must say that it is from the LORD.(witch he did by giving it to the Pope)(note: He doesn't have to be Christian to be a true prophet...check the old testament..but he must say it is from The Lord) 2. Prophecy must be told and pass on...(he gave it to the pope) 3. it must come true 100% of the time. Now that may sound simple but he must make a prophecy prior to making a prophecy that has come 100% true. The Prophecy prior must not be ...it will rain tomorrow. It has to be specific and in the future, but it can be multiple Prophecies.

The only part left up to interpretation is the last. I can agree that alot of this is Vega, but at the same time it has come true 100% of the time. now if you do some math and say that there is a 1/14 chance(take a deck of cards and guess one right out of 14 cards) that he would just be guessing right on each one; he would have 110 right out of 110 and the chances would be in the trillions to one. If that is not a proof of prophecy I don't know what is.

He has met all the Criteria by bible standards....He is a prophet. Unlike Nostradamus(can't spell). We don't know if he is or isn't because he never stated outright that this was from the LORD. people believe the lies as much as the truth.

Also he has another person to account for his love of people and the LORD. St. Bernard also tells us of another prophecy that he told that came true....Malchy's own death...Day and Hour. This guy is batting a thousand.(more like trillion)
..always refer back to the bible....2 more Popes left...ARE YOU READY????

Praise the LORD,
Love ya
Joe

My prediction for the papacy: Jose da Cruz Policarpo.

Who for those Malachy subscribers graduated from the Olivais Seminary in Lisbon with a degree in Philosophy and Theology.

Why the antipopes? ~ easy answer is they help the eye break up the list ~ but a more practical answer is the first requirement of an antipope ~ to wit, that he be a priest AND that some cardinals ~ with no apparent minimum number ~ need to vote for him.

Knowing that we would not wish to lose sight of them (and the fellow who was editor of the Catholic Encyclopedia was a relative to a number of them).

Going backwards from today to the earliest listed pope the anti-popes show, in a general sense, the rise of a new Great Power with an interest in the church as a whole. We can see Spain's influence ~ and earlier France's. I haven't checked up on the earlier popes, but it's just the sort of thing you'd expect.

Missing from most modern histories is any reference to the sheer economic power of the former state of Brittany, and it's sometime satrapy called Cornwall. Their knights show up as the founders of important families in both France and Spain from roughly 800 to 1500.

When the Reconquista was brought to an end in 1492 the Breton knights could no longer pump Spain for income so they turned elsewhere, e.g. to Rome! Borja was an hispanicized Breton name ~ the progenitor a nobleman from St. Malo right near Mont St.Michael (McWal). That family was involved one way or the other in two popes and three antipopes ~ reflective of a waning of fortunes peddling knights to the Reconquista.
