Dog Gone posited (yep, "posited") a theory last week that the delay helps Republicans, although he wasn't sure if they were actually smart enough to orchestrate the delay on purpose.

Please keep in mind that Dog Gone is a lawyer from California, thus weird! The only delay that helps us is spelled DeLay! ;-)

Actually, the advantage to the Republicans is this: 90 days have to elapse after the redictricting map has been approved, before any election based on that map. That means the Texas primary must be delayed a week and cannot be conducted the same day as the other Southern primaries.

So, instead of being lost in the shuffle with the other primaries, Texas will be a separate battleground state -- with additional press attention, and the streets full of Democrat blood. That might be what he was referring to.

Nope. Your neck of the woods, actually.
