But on further ruminaton, it occurs to me that this woman was asking the detective this question about the injuries, somone she has to know isn't qualified to answer a question like that in court. She just said it for the benefit of the press, and to assault the girl emotionally.

How does a large man restrain his victim by the neck, brutally rape her and not leave any visible bruises on her neck?

If there is substance to the three men in three days comment, the defense won the day.

If there is nothing to this claim, I'd have to question the motives of the defense. However, if this is true, the vaginal injuries could be explained away. And, that seems to be all that the procecution has.
