It seems that you all are confused about what Islam is. I'm a Muslim. It is clear from our holy book, The Qur'an, that a person is only a Muslim by his actions. The root word from which Muslim and Islam is derived means peace and submission to God. A Muslim then, is a person who submits to God.

We believe that all of God's prophets were Muslims, meaning they submit to God. Everyone believes that, whether they be Jews or Christians. So we believe Jesus was a Muslim, along with all the other Jewish prophets. We believe Jesus to be a prophet of God.

So, the Muslim point of view is that no matter who you are, if you submit to God, you are a Muslim

You've got it totally backwards. Jesus was a Jew. Mohammad was probably a Jew, a bit confused, who broke away from common thought to create this other branch. If he wasn't a Jew then he was a pagan, just like all the other non-monotheists of his era.

Notice, I am not referring to a point of view, but to historical fact. You can have any "point of view" you choose, it still doesn't change reality (only your own perception).

Well. Thank you. Now certain passages I have read from the Koran make sense. Instead of calling for the killing of all who do not follow their particular religion, the Koran calls for the killing of all who do not submit to G-d.

Well, you've got a big problem, then. It isn't that Christians and Jews don't see Islam your way; it's that large populations of your co-religionists don't see it your way. They see it as an excuse and reason for murdering other humans who disagree with them.

If Islam practiced what you claim it preaches, Christians would regard it much as we do Bhuddism: a faith of millions, but not a threat to civilization, as the Taliban are.

Joe, can you tell me how the Khutbah(sermon) below translates into peaceful islam? This is from Muslim scolars and recommended for muslims. Just part of it here, from http://www.alminbar.com:

Please don't condescend us by saying we are confused about Islam. Your holy book is full of scriptures that command ongoing war against all kaifrs, especially Jews. We all know the Palestinians will never stop killing Jews, state or no state, (and they certainly don't deserve a state).

The actions of Islamists, the state of their medieval, inhumane countries and the silence of the alleged "moderate" muslims speaks volumes about Islam.

I'm pretty sure Jews and Christians have different ideas from Muslims as to what it means to submit to God.

Islam is a political, legal, and religious system. It isnt just going to church on Sunday. There are gobs of Fatwas out there telling Muslims which direction to go in any given circumstance, and not all are so very peaceful and loving as you describe. 30 years of terrorism directed at our country and Israe can prove that point.

What about Khomeini preaching to Islamic schools for over 40 years the following formula for the conquest of the world, which is being followed today:

1) Iran must be theocratic ( muslim)
2) Iraq must be theocratic (muslim)
3) Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Egypt must become theocratic (muslim)
4) Jerusalem must be retaken and the Jewish people destroyed
5) Conquest of the nations

A religion that has swept over entire countries for centuries and conquered them by the sword, replaced their religious sites with Mosques, and kills indiscrimately when people refuse to convert is not peaceful, nor is it friendly.

The siren call of Muslim doublespeak is its lies. It all sounds just so lovely and inviting, but the bad parts dont get revealed to you until you are converted.

Ask any Christian convert or Jewish convert who was once Islamic, and they will tell you they were threatened with death and most had to flee when they were discovered, so this definitely torpedos the "Christians and Jews are our brothers" argument. I dont buy it.


Travel to an Islamic country and notice how many Muslims live under harsh and unbearable poverty, tyranny, and terrible Sharia law and mock "justice" while the ruling class lives in opulence and immunity from prosecution of law violations. See the women in prison forced into prostitution at the behest of corrupt officials. See the rich, fat sheikhs get away with whatever they want while they feign piety.

They can kee Islam. Ive seen its peaceful qualities, and its not for me.
