I bet Clintoon was out of California by sunset, dragging his tail behind him.

I fervently hope he travels around the country to endorse more DemRat candidates!

Okay, if the Dem's had half a brain and instead of falling on their swords for Davis ran a big name, like Feinstein or even Bubba, would Arnold have won? Opinions, please.

Arnie will be on in a few minutes to give his speech.

Wouldn't it be something if he had McClintock on the stage with him? It would blow the Dems away!

THIS IS A MANDATE.

In many elections, "a win is a win" -- it's not terribly important whether you win by 2% or 6%. That's not the case here. BIG wins on the recall question and on the election were of vital importance.

If the recall had passed 51-49, and Arnold had edged Bustamante 37-36 (and don't forget, some news outlets were saying "too close to call" over last weekend), all Hell would be breaking loose. Idiotic suits by Jesse and others alleging insufficient voting accommodations, confusing ballots, and "disenfranchisement" may still happen, of course, but they've had the legs cut out from under them. Ditto for stonewalling and obstruction by Dems in the Legislature. And the same for the already-threatened "Recall Arnold" movement.

Even with substantially fewer votes in the Gubernatorial election than in the recall vote, and even given the fragmentation of the Gubernatorial vote, Schwarzenegger will rack up substantially more votes than "No" received in the recall question. Thus Davis's backers can make NO plausible case that he garnered more votes than Arnold, however indirectly.

By the way, by design or happenstance, I think Arnold did a brilliant thing by flirting with running last year, then pulling out. It allowed the "bimbo eruptions" to come out early and soften the blow, so that they had little effect now. Clintonian, I know, but that's the facts.

Telemundo guy on Mathews said "many in Mexico wish they could recall their leaders".

The Mexican Government is a criminal enterprise and most Americans and Mexicans know it.

In other news: Gary Coleman Ind 2,436 0.2

Mary Cook (Mary Carey) Ind 2,042 0.0

Gary and Mary are neck and neck! I think Mary is getting robbed by not having her porn name on the list. Other people got to put their nicknames on the ballot.

The ACLU may have something here!

Well chalk up another election that both Clinton's campaigned in that lost. I have begun to think Bill Clinton really has lost his touch and brings bad luck every where he goes. It seems every Democrat he campaigns for Loses and Loses big.
Keep it up Bill next year and we will have Bullet Proof majorities in both houses of congress.
