Listen, my husband followed Arnold's career for years. (He was Austrian and liked bodybuilding.) From what we learned, you can't believe one word he says. Not dishonesty, just a talent for promotion that is beyond belief.
He will tell incredible stories that have no basis in truth whether they make him look good or bad simply because they catch the attention of the press. He has always done so. And he is totally brazen about it.
And he has a drive to succeed and achieve that is incredible, and fits classically into the great American immigrant story. He is a remarkable businessman.
He might be a tremendous governor, and he might be totally out of his depth. He certainly has the willpower and drive he needs. But being a good governor requires more than that. I guess time will tell, if he succeeds.

Since the media is predicting up to four weeks before the final results are certified Mere technicalities; at the Arnfest yesterday in HB, both Dana Rorhbacker and Chris Cox repeatedly referred to Wednesday as the day Arnie would take over as Governor.
People's expectations are unbelievably high about this issue - just look how many are already up out here. The pressure on the the county registrars and SoS to certify as soon as possible will be immense.

What the heck are you doing up at 5:30 am California time? All Californians get up early. That's why California is first in everything - all other states are just shoddy imitations. ;-)

I agree, no debating here, just happily dumping Davis!
Half an hour until the polls open. Wanna bet that by 7:15 am Katie and co. will be declaring the recall a failure?:-)

If the turnout is gonna be heavy, its a good sign
Oh yeah? ¡Ay mamacita, manten los frijoles recalentados! ¡Será muy ocupada la nochada ... mañana victoria, El Día de los Muertos para Bustamante! Jes, we must pray tonight to Our Lady of Loretta Sanchez, she weel bring us the veectory, no? How about our Lady of Parra? Eet ees said she bring the dead to life on the election night.
For Ahnolt tonight, a little light reading: "The Life and Death of Emperor Maximilian," the last Austrian that tried to straighten out Mexico.
If this were to be a straight election, it would be Arnold 1, McClintock 2, and Bustamante a distant 3. Interesting, this CA vote fraud thing of yours.

I recommend that FReepers follow my lead and remove Drudge from your links, from your bookmarks and from your minds. He doesn't deserve our attention, nor our hit counts.

Yep. We're probably gonna run Packwood next up here. Republican Renewal, indeed?

I hope and expect he will surround himself with exceptional people, which is one of my disappointments with Tom McC; I think he closed the door on his having any part in Arnies army.

Are those guys really that ignorant, or is this just for effect? Well, it was a political rally, so I imagine most of it was for affect; however, it demonstrates the overwhelming desire for the changeover to take effect as soon as possible.
To: Snerfling
Well, as you certainly know...Davis' buddies will s-t-r-e-t-c-h this out as l-o-n-g as legally possible.
I shudder when I think the bills he will sign in the interim.

Check this out. Jim Robinson endorses Arnold in order to crush California Liberalism !! ...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/996329/posts?page=40#40
Vanity: The Democrats and the L.A. Times must be defeated!!
Excerpt:
The Los Angeles Times and the Democrat corruption machine must be defeated!! No ifs, ands, or buts about it!
This is bigger than Schwarzenegger vs McClintock, bigger than Republican vs Democrat, and even bigger than conservative vs liberal. This is for our American way of life vs the dark side. Not just for California, but for all of America. The leadership of the Democrat Party and their official party platform of corruption, abortion, homosexualism, socialism, slavery to big government, slavery to over-taxation, slavery to terrorism and willing subjugation to foreign powers and world bodies is pure evil. Yes, I'd rather have a more conservative person than Arnold for California, but sorry folks, looks like the numbers aren't there. And I'm unwilling to take chances on allowing Davis to slip out of the recall or, even worse, to allow Bustamante to win the governorship.
Crushing liberalism is what Free Republic is all about. Gray Davis being recalled by the (mostly Democrat) people of California has got to be one of the greatest defeats for liberalism in recent history. And the additional rejection by the same democrat electorate of the ultra-liberal, illegal-alien-loving, tax-them-till-they-die, Cruz Bustamante will be the coup de grâce!

McClintock is at least equally a RINO.
So I guess there's no Republican candidate in this race, to your mindset?

This could be the day we take California back. Make no mistake, if Arnold wins, it will be nothing short of revolutionary. :) I'm gonna head over early to the local high school to cast my vote.
