That is what tony was saying on sean's show. Your right though its not over till its over, but I'd rather have good news than bad. Remember in 2000 when we got all those tight exit polls around 2:00 central it was a harbenger of things to come that night.

"Talks about a backlash"? A backlash about what???Let's hope it's one of these -
Minorities are too stupid to punch a ballot = Minorities vote Republican in droves.
Clinton is a saint, Arnold is a womanizer = All humans votes Republican in droves.

GO BACK, and RIP IT DOWN!

polls indicate *little* movement, not movement... :) In other words, Arnold still in the lead today.

His wife admits he's GUILTY of being DULL.I heard that clip, too!
Did you catch the whopper she told? She said her husband had never been accused of anything more serious than being dull and last she checked that wasn't against the law.

David Dreier is on CNN saying something about wanting to come together after the election...is that a good sign? It's not a bad one. ;)

POSSIBLE CA EXIT POLLS--LEAKED DATA
Calblog ^ | October 7, 2003 | Armed Prophet
Posted on 10/07/2003 2:47 PM PDT by publius1
Apparently Leaked Exit Polling Says... Armed Prophet here, with what I believe is a major scoop, though it may not be entirely surprising.
That is, I'm hearing that early exit polling -- which includes absentees -- already shows the recall and Arnold both with "double digit" leads. (I'm a bit surprised to hear that those numbers are already being tabulated, but this is what I'm told.) Speculation is the race may be called within a few hours of the polls closing.
I obviously can't vouch for it myself -- I'm in DC -- but the source I'm hearing this from is very well-connected in state and national politics; if anybody would know this kind of thing out here, it's this person. So take this information with a bit of caution. But if I'm right, you heard it here first.

Backlash against the LA TIMEs, which is good for Arnold.

57% yes on recall; 43% no on recall Hey, I got $5 riding on at least a 10% split (ie 55-45) -> is it too early to start counting my winnings?
To: Sabertooth
Thanks for the update ping, Sabertooth. My anecdotal spot checks still make it unclear if turnout is high or average. It's not below average, though.

"If the turnout in the Bay Area is unusually low, Davis is good as gone. No way he can win without a very heavy Democratic turnout there and in Los Angeles and that's before the absentee votes are counted. I expect a very heavy GOP turnout both in Orange County and in the exurban Republican heartland to the east of the liberal coastal strongholds."
Yep. If you look at the maps of Davis vs. Simon, it was the Bay Area and L.A. that put Davis over the top. The coast was blue but everywhere else was read. Considering how close that race was, I'm optimistic things will go well today.
To: goldstategop
I hope Arnold gets over 50%. That would be so sweet since the Dems have been practicing their spin that if Arnold doesn't get as many votes as those who vote NO on the recall, it isn't really a win. Of course, if they were to add Arnold and McClintock's numbers together, it would be over Davis's NO on recall votes but they don't consider that. It would be best if Arnold tops the NO on recall votes.

Drier is co-chair of Arnold's campaign and a congressman
To: Wolfstar
The turnout numbers have been all over the place. Some saying it high turnout, others light. I think it's media spin based on which they would prefer.

David Dreier is a GOP Congressman from CA, and one of those heading the campaign committee to elect Arnold. He's a frequent talking head on TV and CA talk radio. Hope this link works, you can see a photo. If it doesn't work, throw his name in Google and you'll get it.
