Rush a 'Little Frustrated' by Drug Allegations

Political commentator Rush Limbaugh (search) returned to his popular radio program Friday and said he was "frustrated" about allegations that he was involved in the sale and use of illegal drugs.

Limbaugh was back on the air one day after his name surfaced as the possible target of a criminal probe into the sale and use of illegal drugs in south Florida.

On the national program, which is carried by about 650 stations across the country, Limbaugh spoke briefly about the allegations of his drug use but avoided going into specifics. He said he was "a little frustrated" that he had not "gotten to the bottom" of what was happening.

"The story in Florida really is an emerging situation ... I don't really know the full scope of what I'm dealing with," he said. Limbaugh said he'd been humbled by all the supportive e-mails he'd received from fans, estimating he'd received about 25,000.

As for all the media stories that have emerged about the drug investigation, Limbaugh said that he was "tempted" to respond to them but "I'm not going to go there."

But he vowed to discuss the case in detail in the future.

"Rest assured, I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is ... maybe more than you really want to know about this," he said.

Denial? About what?

How about that beside the golden EIB microphone there is the Golden EIB Rig and spoon.

He is sprung. He has a drug problem. It is obvious by his actions. It has happened to far better people than him through the ages. If he beats this he will come out a better person.

If Rush is on drugs, he's sure not fitting my impression of what somebody on drugs can function like. I'm not aware of him ever having been spaced out, zonked out, slurred, etc. Has anybody here ever known him to show signs of drug use? Not me.

It is standard advice of a lawyer not to talk for any reason.

So why didn't he say he was acting on his lawyer's advice? Why the tapdancing?

But in the past, Rush has often commented on celebrities and politicians accused of illegality or misconduct and wondered aloud why they do not come out with both barrels blazing and trumpeting their innocence from the roof tops if they are being wrongfully accused.

Maybe now he knows why.

He has nothing to fear, except the horrible truth of the War on Some Drugs. If he hides behind lawyers, he is not better than most of the spoiled baby boomers who believe morality is established in the courts rather than up above.

If there was no evidence, and Rush told his attorneys these publicly made allegations are completely false, he would be a complete fool not to come out and say, "this allegations are not true, completely false, and I don't use drugs or obtain drugs illegally".

I would imagine his lawyer has told him not to comment on anything regardless of his guilt or innocence.

All I've seen is a baseless accusation from the Enquirer. If you have better evidence than that, please present it. I'll give Rush the benefit of the doubt until there is real evidence.

He has a prescription drug problem gone amuk. It has happened to many millions!

I agree ladtx. I would bet that Rushs Lawyers have said not to speak about any of this.

He has probably been told by his attorney's not to discuss this until all the facts are out there. That is probably why he is saying nothing about the specifics of the case.

If the only indication that I was under investigation for illegally buying drugs was what I read in the newspaper I would not make a public comment on it either, unless I believe everything I read in the newspapers. I stopped being that gullible years ago.

I haven't formed an opinion yet as to whether they are true or not. I'll wait until there is an official allegation of some sort.

Joe it is obvious he is either guilty as sin or is setting up the enquirer for the lawsuit of the century. I'd be the house on the former.

Can't remember whether or not he allegedly bought 11,000 narcotic pills from his maid for 50-100,000 bucks a few years ago?

Last weekend, I was defending Rush on the McNabb much ado about nothing garbage and now.....I'm not sure what to think.

If he's guilty, it's not "nothing".
