OK you are a millionaire, so you buy your drugs from your maid?
OR
You are the maid of a millionaire, when you are caught buying illegal drugs you claim you rich, right-wing talk show boss is involved, offer to roll over on him and then sell the story to the National Inquirer. The police appear to have a problem witness here.

He has probably been gagged by his lawyersThen why hasn't he said so? (I've asked this of every person who made this claim---none has answered.)

I disagree - I am SURE his lawyer told him not to talk and if he was taking some of the drugs for ear pain he can't very well say he wasn't taking them at all. See the other post about plausible theories.

Then why hasn't he said so? Rush wants to appear as his own man, and I respect that. Can you imagine the reaction if he said something like this?: 'I'd love to tell you the truth about all details and allegations, but based on the advice of my attorney I cannot.'
To: Nov3
I have listened to Rush for many years and you would think someone who has this kind of a drug problem would not be able to do a daily radio show, write and sell best selling books, make numerous public appearances, play golf, travel, and still carry on a coherent conversation with strangers on the phone....this story does not make sense to me.

Maybe Limbaugh thinks highly of the intelligence of his listeners and figures they are smart enough to realize he is being quiet on the advice of his attorneys. It does seem to be a very obvious reason for his silence.

If there is a Federal drug investigation afoot then anyone in that situation is best advised to shut up. Federal investigators and prosecutors have TOO MUCH power because of the drug war and even seemingly innocuous statements can be used by the Feds to bury you.
The Martha Stewart case is a perfect example. Martha made some vague statements proclaining her innocence and now the Feds are now trying to use these statements as part of her indictment. It is very, very tricky situation.

"I've heard that Art Bell had (or has...) a 7-10 minute delay between call and air so he can "fix" the continuity if he gets a really "undesireable" call. How real-time is Limbaugh? Not so. Mr. Bell has always had a 7 second call delay for editing out words or content that are regulatory violations. As for Mr. Limbaugh, I have no knowledge.

How big do you think a home studio is? So he has a "virtual" studio. I've heard/seen remotes with the producers/screeners back at the studio, with the "talent" and one or two support people on location.
The Art Bell before-last-retirement did his show solo from his home, alledgely no screeners (probably true, heard a caller
say he misdialed (non-800) and woke up a Bell neighbor), and everybody else back in Medford, Oregon.
Barbara Simpson (out of SF) called callers on lying to screeners (in Oregon).
(And yes, I know Premier consolidated C2CAM to LA)
Technology: "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain"
Not to mention all those call centers on the other side of the world.

See the other post about plausible theories.Plausible theories? LOL!
I'm not into speculating about people's theories being batted around.
Only a fool would not respond to publicly made accusations of using/buying drugs illegally IF THEY WERE TOTALLY INNOCENT AND NOT INVOLVED.

I get 30 Percocets about once a year....maybe twice ....for my lower back.
My wife picks them up at the pharmacy.
I'm not sure about maids.
I hope this is all nothing.
If it is not then I am not happy with Rush. If everything they are claiming is true (which I sure hope is not the case) then he is in real trouble and the ramifications are ominous.

Denial? About what? About Rush being a perscription pill junkie, that's what. I do not care. We have all had some problems. I just hope this makes him reconsider his stance on the WOD.
Years ago I had an embarrassing problem myself. I remember feeling so ashamed and as though I had let so many people down. I will never forget what a friend told me: "Everyone who liked you still likes you. Everyone who didn't still doesn't."
That really put things into perspective. I could demonstrate my remorse to my friends by demonstrating I had changed the behavior which had landed me in trouble. My friends were pulling for me. I stopped worrying about my enemies.

Do you think they'll confiscate his home and virtual studio?
BTTT for later.

I just hope this makes him reconsider his stance on the WOD. I hope so as well. But being the Drug Warrior he has been in the past, if all the allegations are true he should accept the consequences of his actions and be thrown in jail and treated as harshly by the courts as any street junkie would be. Hopefully he doesn't fight for "Hollywood Justice" as he has so often railed against it.
Sometimes the only thing that can change the minds of those who support senseless laws and raw government power regarding them is for them to be hit with the hammer of justice they blindly swung themselves.
And with his constant calling for personal responsibility, decrying the playing of a victim, and all else that goes with it he better stand up and take it like a man. For if he does anything less, his credibility will evaporate, and rightly so.
Hopefully these accusations are wildly false and my above post is irrelevant. Only time will tell.
