I am hoping to get folks to quit shopping at Target because they sell these awful, dirty, FCUK EWE products at Marshall Field's here in Mpls. For any retailer here in the Heartland to spit on the morals and standards that most of us live by is just unbelievable. Target refuses to follow Federated who dropped this line of Degenerate cosmetics and tee shirts and other clothing after a week of protests from God fearing Christians all over the Midwest. Target says No, we will sell what we want. Well, we consumers who don't want our teen age grandchildren wearing FCUK EWE shirts around the neighborhood will Boycott Target.

Marshall Fields is a profit-driven company. Your public condemnation will only make teenagers want it more, hence giving them more reason to stock up on products like this.

And next you'll be telling us not to walk down the streets of SF?That's always good advice.

After all, the Dayton family founded and owns the Target corporation! Founded, yes. Owns? Not anymore. They're minority shareholders now. And Little Marky Dayton never had anything to do with running the company.

Here's an idea: don't buy the shirts. I think people who actually continue to buy products (or services) at such retail outlets and complain at the same time make more of an impact than those who boycott or those who simply don't buy the offensive products and are mute about it.
To: Lunatic Fringe
If you dont want your teens to wear them, dont buy them... or exert some control over your teens. Boycott Target? I don't think so. If you don't want your family to drink polluted water, don't drink out of the polluted faucet...exert control over your household by buying bottled water. (The h*ll w/the rest of the neighborhood...pollutants--moral or otherwise--who cares? No need to get perturbed...just leave our neighbors/young folks to fend for themselves)
Dan Ackroyd would do these S.N.L. skits as a toy manufacturer defending the worst possible products that could bring harm to minors. I think we need Dan to do some similar skits of products that bring moral harm to minors...some FREEPERS are too dull to otherwise comprehend.

At the Fashion Court at Pentagon City Mall in Arlington, VA (one subway stop away from the Pentagon), there is a store whose name is something like French Connection UK (get it? --FCUK).
They sell a whole line of clothing with the FCUK logo prominently affixed to the front of the shirts.

I think that I will simply not allow my children to wear those. Target is soon to be one of my community's largest employers when their massive distribution center opens. Heck, I am wearing some very offensive sweat pants I bought from Target right now. Boycott, no, keep my kids out of offensive clothing, yes.

Your polluted water analogy is flawed. You have no choice of what comes out of your faucet. And that is a health issue you can address with your local city council.
And I am not defending these T-Shirts, I am defending Target's right to sell them. You don't have to boycott the whole store because it sells one product you don't like. People from all walks of life can find SOMETHING to which they object.
If you don't want your child wearing these shirts, don't buy them. If your teen buys one, throw it out and inform him/her that you will not tolerate such trash.
Be a parent.

For what it's worth... the kids around here don't think *anything* at Target is "cool". In fact, older kids prefer to order clothes online over the Internet, mostly from people who do designs for skateboard manufacturers. They buy Dickies brand jeans and shirts at Walmart. My kids wouldn't be caught dead wearing *anything* from Target - anything we ever bought them from Target ended up permanently on the closet floor. I doubt there will be a swarm of kids standing in line to buy shirts of any sort from Target anytime soon.

As the word "ewe" is on the shirt, it must be meant for export to some jihadistan...

I have worked for Target for 2 plus years and every now and then I hear this rumor. Here is the offical Target Response to this rumor.
This is availble at the VFW website.
http://www.vfw.org/news/targetlettertovets.htm And before we spread rumors check out hoax websites like
http://hoaxinfo.com/target.htm Also read this web address to see what all Target has done for Veterans.
http://www.vfw.org/index.cfm?fa=news.newsDtl&did=1221 Target's Letter to Vets
We want to apologize for any misunderstanding regarding Target's support of the Vietnam Wall and our corporate giving program. Giving back to the communities where our stores are located is something we're proud to do. In fact, nationwide, Target Corporation gives back more than $2 million a week to the communities where we operate stores.
In March of 2002, a Howard County veteran approached one of our stores in his home state of Indiana seeking a $100 cash donation to support a display of the "moving wall." However, stores are not able to give cash contributions to any organization. Contributions from stores are limited and are made in the form of a gift card.
Our corporate giving program that does incorporate cash donations is handled through a process called grants. Unfortunately, the veteran and his organization were not provided the proper information to facilitate consideration of a grant from either the store or our corporate office. We are truly sorry for the manner in which this was handled and the resulting confusion that has taken place. We accept all applications for grants from February 1 to July 31. Any guest can request a grants application brochure, called "Grant Guidelines," at their local store, or access a grant application at:
http://target.com/target_group/community_giving/grant_guidelines.jhtml. Target appreciates the dedication and service of all our veterans and has previously funded projects benefiting veterans. Target Corporation will be one of the sponsors of the 2003 tour of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's outreach initiative, The Wall That Heals.
Thank you again for your comments.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Hanson

I stopped shopping there long ago -- when I heard they wouldn't help veteran causes but as a company provided health care to gay partners. I also told my kids not to EVER give me anything from Target.
To: Katya
Maybe you can control your kids, but I don't want to see this shirt on some punk who is walking towards me...probably some unclean pro-Communist anti-war punk at that.
To: Texas_Dawg
I didn't say it was true. I just posted it for discussion.
