In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

You may be right, but I've seen too many times where he just bashed the Bush position for no reason, and usually his prophecies don't pan out. Yes, he was right nearly 10 years ago about the GOP takeover, but he has been quite weak as a newsman since then. I think his position on Israel gets in the way of his reporting.

One morning at the nub end of Bill Clinton's presidency, Clinton chief of staff John Podesta walked into a senior staff meeting in the Roosevelt Room waving a copy of USA Today. I heard from that Freeper. Wilson did not make mention of his wife's profession but rather mentions her full name - something not typically done if one's spouse is an "agent".

Tonight Britt Hume had the story about Brigham Young University students walking out on a speech by Helen Thomas. Seems I read that here about two weeks ago.
