So be it.

Why should it be a big blow to McClintock? If the poll numbers were reversed he would be getting the endorsement.
Grow up McClintockbots.

....just what we need, another pandering RINO for the illegals.
Oh well, I guess California will get what they deserve in the end.

Hello Hillary:
This is really no surprise and considering the way this is playing out, was probably decided once the Republican Elite found out Arnold would run.
Once again, the Elite run things, and they don't like change. To have to admit that the California Republican Party is too far left would be too much for them to bear.
But that is exactly what a McClintock Governorship would light up...that in California, the Republican representatives are not conservative in the Reagan model, they are in the Wilson model...which translates into Republicrats...IMHO.

Ug......When is this stupid election? At this point, I couldn't care less if the people of CA put a gopher in the Governors mansion.
All I know is the rest of us are sick and tired of the never-ending well of "Tom/Arnold sucks and Tom/Arnold doesn't!" threads.
Jeez.....there weren't this many threads about the Presidential election in 2000.

The title should read --
"The CA Republican Party establishment endorses another liberal Republican" I guess they needed to hurry up and do it before people see the new USA Today/Gallup Poll:
McClintock 56%
Bustamante 37%
Come on conservatives, it's time to stick together and reject the latest country club effort to get us to vote against our conscience. We booted Riodan -- now it's time to show Arnold the door and rally around a REAL conservative. Go Tom Go!!
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
How is this a huge blow? Did you honestly expect that they would endorse McClintock?

I'm a huge Tom fan, but at this point, really, he should throw his support behind (R)nold.

I'm a conservative, so I've supported McClintock all along. However, this shouldn't be a big blow to him. This is fair and it should be what he expected.
It's a few days before the election, he's been given time, and his upward momentum flattened out, and he didn't make it.
Bottom line. Arnold's numbers are far ahead.
If this is a surprise, then Mac is slow and shouldn't have been my selection in the first place.

This announcement comes as a big blow to Tom McClintock. Please...like McClintock wasn't expecting this?
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
wow. really big surprise. If Hillary Clinton ran as a Rupublican, California Republicans would endorse her. All they look for is who is leading in the polls, not whpo is qualified to fix the damn problems. a(R)nold will be Californias version of Jesse Ventura!

I have been a registered Democrat all my voting life!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ask me if I care what the apparatus thinks.
Ask me what I think of the "Contract with America", which imploded in a flurry of running into hiding, followed by "accomodation" with the killer progressives.
I continue to reject the "win the skirmish and lose the war" mentality.

Political parties should not endorse in a primary.
This is NOT a primary.
It's the real enchilada....no general election after this. No second opportunity.
And yes, the party endorsement DOES mean something. If nothing else, it adds to the tidal wave for Arnold now in progress. Bandwagon psychology and timing is everything in a campaign. Arnold's timing has been perfect....he's beginning his peaking at exactly the right time, i.e., a week before election.
