And the idiocy of these Atheists is demonstrated by the fellow who claims they are in the majority, which is a blatent falsehood. Now, as I said on another thread, I did only take one course in logic, but I suppose I didn't need to take any to understand the concept of "false in one, false in all". If he states one demonstrably untrue claim, why should we beleive that he beleives anything he says?

It reminds me of that famous old wall graffiti, where someone scribbled "God is dead - Nietzsche". Underneath it somebody else scribbled, "Nietzsche is dead - God"

Do you apply this to religous teaching as well? There have been many demonstrably false claims made by religous authorities. They all get swept under the rug as "he was wrong, but we know better now."

I make no point on religious teaching. I merely point out that the atheist claims atheists are a majority, a statement which is untrue. I am only seeking to debunk his credibility.

It's obvious that most religious statements must be taken on faith, they are largely unprovable. I would also like to be able to spell believe correctly, at least once in a while. : )

He said 'No problem just turn around.". Joan said it was just a tree. God turned to her and said "Then you make one.".

Modern-day? I thought this trend has begun in late 1700s and continues unabated. In fact, it's seems prevalent now, given that less than 10% of Europeans identify themselves as Christian. If anyone is relegaetd to "provinces" it is the religious, it appears to me.

The last great defense of the existence of God is probably Emannuel Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason". Since then the Department of Theology has ceased to be an intellectually respectable part of institutions of higher learning.
