There are more misstatements of fact per paragraph in this "article" than one can count on both hands. Does Ted Rall know how ignorant he is?

The United States enjoyed two centuries of uninterrupted democracy before George W. Bush came along. The Brits burned the White House, civil war slaughtered millions and depressions brought economic chaos, yet presidential elections always took place on schedule and the winners always took office. Bush ended all that, suing to stop a ballot count that subsequent newspaper recounts proved he had lost. Wow, a revisionist history double-whammy! I guess the two previous elections where the electoral college (you know, that pesky Constitutional thing that libs hate) put a candidate into office with less votes from the citizenry than another candidate...
...and the newspaper recounts: I'm sorry, but could ANYONE give me a link to the newspaper recount story that said Gore won? I didn't think so because one doesn't exist (except only in the reality-challenged minds of liberals).

U.S. citizens like Jose Padilla and Yasser Hamdi disappear into the night, never to be heard from again.Wow, you'd think that if he really believed this, he'd be way too afraid to publicly criticize the Bush administration like this. But, come to think of it, has anyone even heard from this author since he wrote the article?

"Where working-class populists see him as a smug, effeminate frat boy"
Bush has reason to be smug as compared to the libs, but effeminate? ROFL Apparently, Mr. Rall doesn't know anything about what it takes to be a real man.
"Bush ended all that, suing to stop a ballot count that subsequent newspaper recounts proved he had lost."
LOL Talk about a blatant lie! That sad thing is, people will read this clap trap and believe it.

No, Teddy - hmm, another Teddy - you hate Bush because you sold your souls to steal Florida and you ended up selling them for nothing.

They admit that they hate him. Not that they have contempt for him, or for his policies, but that they unequivocally, and viscerally, hate him. That is terrifying, because it clearly means they have lost all reason, and are controlled exclusively by their emotions.

Somebody around here has a tag line from Johnny Cash that says it's good to be hated by the right people. This article proves it.

My response to this whacky article: "WHY WE HATE BUSH (It's the Stolen Election, Stupid)"
Here is a reality check for those with liberal blinders. There was no crime scene, nothing was 'stolen'. Bush won, Gore lost...and there is evidence that hard core liberals, including Ted, lost their sanity in result. Maybe their lost sanity is what they should blame Bush for?
Facts are facts, as Gore filed court papers in an obvious effort to reverse the outcome of the election based in Florida. Gore officially lost that election, and out of desperation he pursued a ridiculous court challenge...and he lost AGAIN. Bush simply responded to debunk Gore's challenge to recount votes, which limited the ballot recount to be conducted in select democratic majority counties.
Liberals are obviously stubborn about this election war, there have been numerous unofficial recounts based on Gore's original recount plan for select counties. These silly recounts spanned over two years afterwards. Each and every recount attempt put Bush on top...if that should matter. However, IF Gore won any one of those recounts at any point then the Bush-haters would make this into some outrageous circus...which by all accounts would describe them as "Stupid".
The "stupid" label should belong on those who don't understand the basic historical fact that Bush OFFICIALLY WON the election. There is nothing to dispute that fact (period!).
Leftist liberals - especially Marxists, like Ted - NEED to get over election 2000, and stop spinning some fantasy. Perhaps their strategy is to gain some sort of sympathy vote from moderate liberals in 2004. Like that is going to help the promise of Dean, ha, ha! (That is IF Socialist Dictator Dean actually wins the Demo nomination).

"Time to dust off the F word. "Whenever people start locking up enemies because of national security without much legal care, you are coming close [to fascism]," warns Robert Paxton, emeritus professor of history at Columbia University and author of the upcoming book "Fascism in Action."
A couple of other great American "fascists" who also locked up their opposition in America : President Wilson and Abraham Lincoln.

The author of the article seems to believe that prior elections were just outright won by the voters/electoral college.
Nixon conceded to Kennedy when Alabama votes were in question.
Cleveland, 1888, won the popular vote with 48.6% , but lost the electoral vote to Harrison by 233 to 168.

"Because every day some Democrat seems to make a manic or totally over-the-top statement about George Bush, the Republican party, and the state of the nation today." Hey, Ted -- thanks for proving David Brooks right.

ABC NEWS ADMITS BUSH TECHNICALLY WON 2001 ELECTION:
This video was taped on Veterans Day, 2001 on ABC; in my view, the most liberal broadcast network out there. This news broadcast was aired after ABC premiered Saving Private Ryan. In it you will see that they admit if the Supreme Court would have allowed a recount of Florida votes, Bush would have still won the presidency. The clip here starts with 2 stories prior to the announcement. I left them in to verify that this is not a hoax. It is about 1 minute long.
http://www.planetgoofball.com/admission.htm
What's the point? The liberal rhetoric heard especially this week of the 2004 Democratic Convention is that George Bush stole the 2001 election. Yet, the most liberal network broadcaster admits here that technically, Bush did not. It is now 7/30/04 1:30am General Mountain Time, and I really should be asleep. But post 9/11 politics are so distracting that I CAN'T GO TO SLEEP anymore or get any personal work done! AAARGH! This Democratic Convention was so disgusting; it makes my heart sick! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I've got to unplug my radio and television to protect my mental and emotional health. Why is it that the most divisive issue in our time is 9/11? Answer: LIBERALISM.
