What a fun debate. I'm looking forward to this week's "Saturday Night Live".
It should be a hoot!

It didn't hurt Bush in 2000 when he lost California.
And there are enough states like New Mexico and Michigan they barely lost and can pick up in 2004. California's electoral votes would be great to have, but not necessary to win.

Anybody want to BET that the LA TIMES comes out with a PUSH POLL showing Tom AHEAD of Arnold out of desperation in a hope to split the GOP???
To: Ciexyz
I thought Cruz Bustamante did a credible job and surely convinced his Democratic base to unite behind him.
That fact should have the Pubbies running scared. They better come together....or CA will remain in the Blue States and that will hurt Bush in 2004
LOL. You're kidding, right?

I think you've got it right.
Arnie's got the secret ingredient of charisma (proven in the marketplace) and that's a HUGE thing to overcome in the average voter's mind.

Voters will not remember a list of specifics. You grab 4-6 issues and ram them down the people's throats.

McClintock was great. He was knowledgable, sincere, and is the ONLY one who represents conservatism on any level whatsoever. ...And thank God. I love Cruz Bustamante so much. Tom is helping us so.
I've already emailed lt. Gov. Bustamante's office with the suggestion that McClintock be allowed to ring the first California Assembly session to order. A beaming Governor Bustamante will let him keep the gavel.

Fox News feedback :
Loser is Grey Davis - Michael Barone.
"Not even Cruz B. had anything to say good to say for Davis ..."
Winner - Tom McClintock won. (Maria L.).
"McClintock was impressive. Arnold passed the test. made a mistake of getting " (Fred Barnes).
I personally am convinced that McClintock has a chance. He needs to get that core of 25% of the conservative voter base behind him.
The good news in the debate was that Arnold and Tom didnt go after eachother. A plus for both.

I found it revealing that Arnold ran away from the Bush family and the Wilson connections as quick as his wits could carry him....."This isn't New Hampshire."

They're also remarking that the AS people are relieved TM did NOT attack Arnold, as they expected.

I really like Tom McClintock. Same here... he came across as the perfect candidate IMHO. He would definitely be the best leader for California. However, it really saddens me that he probably has little chance of winning in such a liberal state.
