I actually do somewhat enjoy the West Wing,I watched a rerun of "The Andy Griffith Show" last night.
I don't believe today's writers can touch the '55 to '65 shows.

Actually, I think the best line is one we didn't get to hear: what Jack said to Nina last year after they re-captured her. Her face turned ashen. Just wonderful!
And the best scene is that entire scene in the limo in the first season; never look at a towel the same way. His expression as the guy shoots at him - just the best.

Yeah, I can't wait to find out what he said! (I love this show!)

I just did a search on Sorkin on imdb.com, and it says he is married. I do remember him getting caught with drugs at the airport or something.
Everyone loves Raymond won!!! My favorite show, pretty much the only show I make time to watch each week.

How about King of Queens...not even nominated, for anything? It's so funny. I'm actually watching it now instead of the EMMYS. Oh well.

I usually tape the Monday evening shows because I have a weekly family thing every Monday night. We're usually done by 8 pm, but just in case, I have a tape back up. Anyway, I will confess to liking King of Queens, Yes Dear, and Standing Still. It's a pretty funny night on CBS.
Wow, great tribute for Bill Cosby by Ray Romano. (I think we're tape delayed in Utah.)

The John Stewart segment was pretty funny.....Darryl Hammonds (sp?) Rummy was the best.

Darryl Hammonds (sp?) Rummy was the best. I'm just now catching the left coast feed which started 39 minutes ago.
I don't really want to sit thru too much of this. Do you recall if it occurred during the 1st, 2nd or 3rd hour?
To: hole_n_one
I was on the phone and got in late myself.
2nd hour would be my guess.

Great thread, as usual. The Emmys had too many commercials and ran too long. I'm glad Everyone Loves Raymond won, and I don't get HBO, so I've never seen the Sopranos.

I just looked back .... the comments about Rummy on this thread were posted about 9:15 EDT, if that helps you any. I wasn't watching the show so I'm not sure when it started ..... at 8:00 maybe?

Did hysterical blindness win anything? I thought it was very true to life. Low expectations syndrome.

He frequently speaks out about blue humor being the low road for a true comic. I think it is so great that Ray R. presented this award. He is carrying on a tradition of family TV.
