[history]
As a captain running an intelligence shop, I had one phenomenally intelligent subordinate. Smarter in every academic regard than any of his comrades, the officer should have been the star of our operation. But he lacked one essential quality: good instincts. He unfailingly called things wrong.

Of course, there is one real choice out there - Sen. Joseph Lieberman. The media have served our country badly by favoring the silly and sensational over Lieberman's sober, mature and convincing stands on both domestic issues and foreign policy.I might have been inclined to agree with the author, but everytime I think of Lieberman, I remember his total betrayal of every belief he ever had in order to get the no.2 slot on the RAT ticket in 2000. An overnight sellout of everything he stood for leaves me with zero respect for the man.

Everyone refuses to mention the most important point in electing a democrat. I don't care if you elect Zell Miller,
who is going to be in the cabinet? The democrats have no one, as far as I know, who is competent in national security and is trustworthy. Who would be nominated for Defense? State? Attorney General?
The democrats must not be supported, and I don't care who they nominate. If a Rat is elected, we are going to have a whole bunch of bad apples handling national security.

who is going to be in the cabinet
A crucial thought. Thanks for providing it.

The problem is Bush does really take our enemies seriously
either China and Saudi Arabia are our main enemies
and Bush treats them with favor.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 that is now
an established fact.
We continue to give a pass to the main backer
of terrorism in the world-Saudi Arabia.
A lot of talk about Bush great intution but its
simply a lot of hot air. A great myth.
Almost everything said about Clark applies to
Bush. Bush is someone still stuck in the elite
past who does not understand our enemies.
Bush blew some hot air about good and evil but
his actions do not match that talk.

If Clark were President his Secretary of State
would probably be Hillary Clinton and she
would be the real President.
To: Miss Marple
who is going to be in the cabinet? Excellent question - one that FoxNews should focus on. This is a good article on Clark - but Peters misses one vital point. The main influence on Clark will be the Clintons ------ been there, done that -- no thanks.

"Bush is someone still stuck in the elite
past who does not understand our enemies. "
How can one be so wrong. Your knee jerk reaction to bad favor of Wes Clark is to try the mirror trick--see if the words reflect off the mirror and land on President Bush.
No, you could never be so wrong. President Bush not only has the instinct, not only understands who the enemy is (would you want him to bomb Saudi, or better boycott the oil?--do you think Bush should bomb all the evil countries or perhaps try one or two countries at a time?) but has the courgae of his convictions and does what is right. That is what makes a good leader--KNOWING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND DOING IT.
If it was to Wes Clark and the rest of your friends, the democrats, we would still be waiting for France to give the okay before we could defend ourselves.
Robert Jarvik "Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear and no concept of the odds against them. They make the impossible happen." Mr. Bush is our president and he is a great leader.

I might have been inclined to agree with the author, but everytime I think of Lieberman, I remember his total betrayal of every belief he ever had in order to get the no.2 slot on the RAT ticket in 2000. Indeed, no one who calls himself "moderate," can make it on a Democrat ticket without selling his soul to the left. If Clark had any good qualities prior to his announcement, they won't last long.
To: Princeliberty
You have no idea what is going on. Might I remind you that we are now out of SA for the most part, and have our bases in Qatar? Did you happen to notice the three SA princes who died of "natural causes" in a very short time?
Quit paying attention to the New York Times and other outlets. Bush has a delicate balancing act in order to keep the economy going and protect Israel. Not everything that he does is going to be shown on TV or printed in the papers.
To: olliemb
No knee jerk reaction. No greater hater
of Clinton on the planet and hence I certainly
do not like their puppets like Clark.
Actually the writer had a far too high opinion
of Clark.
Clark was never a real solider.
To: Elkiejg; Princeliberty
Yes the article makes some good points about Clark but neglects to talk about Clarks extremely poor judgment and blatant recklessness when in a role of major authority in Kosovo.
Clark gave orders to bomb Russian soldiers in Kosovo! Were it not for the level-headed, clear thinking of British and American generals under Clark who REFUSED to obey those direct orders, disaster would have mostly certainly ensued. Can you imagine the reaction of the Russians if their soldiers had been attacked?!!
One link with the story:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/671495.stm We NEED to get the word out on this! Clark is UNFIT!

We are still even giving money to the PLO.
And Bush Sr. still doing business with Bin Landen
relatives.
And selling weapons to Saudi Arabia.
We have a lot of people desperately seeking to wish Bush was something he is not the real deal. Bush is simply a
phony.
Considering how their are hundreds and probably somewere
in the thousands of Saudi Princes.
The death of 3 in a couple months is not necessary
a big deal at all.
And even if princes started being killed more likely
that not it would princes killing other princes.
I sure wish Bush had it in him to let CIA take
out Saudi Princes but he does not.
I might add to that on the Saudi Arabia issues
Democrats have given him a pass. They like big
money too!

Do we have a dollar figure on what flying the No Fly Zone year after year has cost US TaxSERFS?

Hillary as Sec of State.....now that is one very scary thought. We have all been concentrating on the 9 dwarves...ooops, make that 10 lil indians, that I don't think anyone has given much thought as to what a Dem cabinet would look like. Most certainly the klintoooons will have some major role if the dems are elected. All the more reason to pay attention and fight like he!! to keep Bush in the Oval office.

You know, I don't have any way to refute things that just seem to me to be made-up factoids from the DU talking points list.
If you can't see a good leader when you have one, you will no doubt be the victim of a phony type who will promise you the moon.
To: Liz
well, he 's seems right on Clark, but Joe for President when he changes his positions depending on who he's running with...I don't think so....

>> Everytime I think of Lieberman, I remember his total betrayal of every belief he ever had in order to get the no.2 slot on the RAT ticket in 2000.
I was always reminded of the "moderate Republican" Dick Schweiker of Pennsylvania, who sold himself out to be Reagan's presumptive running mate in 1976. pecially memorable because it inspired the last ever funny episode of "Doonesbury."
"Mr Schweiker, how long does it take to betray everything you ever stood for?"
"At least 12 hours. The paperwork is incredible."
To: Liz
But he lacked one essential quality: good instincts. He unfailingly called things wrong.....A president must be able to make a decision in a crisis, and it had better be a good one.
These two statements in themselves are enough to make me shudder that he is even running for president.
The same two statements apply to Billary the Hitch if she were to EVER become president.
