"This is gonna start to rocket about 18 mph north-northwest tomorrow then due north by late tomorrow night"
This suggests that instead of going through VA northwestward, it should turn straight north and head towards DC through VA. Is this what you're implying? Whoa!! I live right in the DC area - thought we'd just get a big soaking rain from this as it passed well west of us.

Good Morning Freeple. I will be 30 miles up the road from where this monster will make landfall. I have a generator and if I can stay online I'll post a narration of what's going on in my section of the storm.

The Wed 5 AM Track Map shows it shifting moreso to the DC area, but local forecasters on the radio are still talking about a 'few' inches of rain here (6:30 AM now).

"It's gonna come ashore there, IMO."
Wow, great webcam view of a lovely beach.
And now it appears that things are changing dramatically - so you are probably right.

Weather Channel has Mike Siedel at Virginia Beach. Jim Cantore at Nags Head. Isn't Cantore usually a stronger bad weather magnet?

My Favorite Headache posted this live webcam view from Cape Hatteras lighthouse a couple of days ago. It refreshes... keep an eye on it, too.
Oh, heck... here's another live webcam, courtesy ECU...

Stay safe, folks.

Ready here in Newport News, VA. We don't expect to see the wind and rain start picking up until about mid-day tomorow, assuming the storm doesn't deviate wildly from predictions,of course.
Never a safe bet.

Sounds like the NHC is punting on this one. The eye is very small, but that rotation looks a lot healthier than it did this time yesterday.

I know we need it bad, but it looks like the closest it's going to get to either Michigan or Wisconsin is the middle of Lake Huron.
We should still get some rain Friday, but it won't be from Izzy.

I can't wait to see Jim Cantore losing his mind on the beaches of N.C.. You can bet that they'll move him before he completely loses his mind, even if it requires military support.
