Keep reading. Do not use indoors.

burns fossil fuel. Byproduct of burning fossil fuel is carbon monoxide. It would be like parking your running car inside your home.

We rolled ours out today (outside the garage) and ran it for a bit, to make sure it's working. It runs on gas, so like someone else said, it must be vented outside (outside the garage even), so the fumes don't build up in the house.

I lost my only child to carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator during a power outage; it was properly vented.

Go back and get a CO detector.

Don't use it indoors. It would be like running your car in a closed garage.

It has exhaust. Also if you hook up to your house make sure and disconnect all lines from the main power since your generator will run down the lines and shock the line crews trying to make repairs. They will think the power is off but yours will get them.

The best way to utilize this is to construct a separate enclosure OUTSIDE the house and have it wired into your "must have" circuits utilizing a throwover switch that doesn't allow generator use without cutting off contact to the outside world.

You can get those throwover switch packages at Home Despot and I'd suggest having a competent electrician install it.

Good Luck SL! :)
