In a long and very interesting poll pubished today by the California Chamber of Commerce, (which has endorsed Arnold, and bits have been excerpted to the media) Uberroth backers were asked who they would support if he withdrew.

This is what they said: Schwarzenegger 34%, McClintock 21%, Bustamante 23%.

Not a chance in Hades that Ueberroth will endorse McClintock. Ueberroth is FOR drivers licenses for illegal aliens.

Here's what Ward Connelly had to say about Arnold Schwarzenegger's opposition to Prop54.

"I am disgusted that a Republican candidate for governor who wants to wear the crown of Ronald Reagan and considers himself a disciple of Milton Friedman would support government intrusion into private lives by categorizing human beings on the basis of skin color and other physical traits. No true disciple of Friedman supports this kind of activity."

Other endorsers of Prop54.

Shelby Steele

George Will

Thomas Sowell

Walter Williams

Just a question. Are you hoping the dems have dirt? Are you supporting that type of campaigning?

I guess Shelby Steele, George Will, Thomas Sowell, and Walter Williams are all "right-wing crazies" in Ahnold's eyes...

It cannot be more clearly demonstrated than that.

It certainly can be.
My second-grader could even see it: by the actual election.

Unless you're suggesting that polls or your delusions are "clearer" than reality.

McClintock 41% Bustamante 47% head to head

The poll was taken before the DL's for Illegals bill was signed by Davis and endorsed by Bustamante, and even these numbers are within the far margin of error.

The poll was conducted by Baselice & Associates, Inc., September 1-4, 2003 among 1,005 likely voters. The results carry a margin of error or +/- 3.1% at the .95 test level.

With Arnold dropping the ball to overturn SB60 (he'll ask the Dem legislature to change their minds), McClintock's referendum is the only chance to prevent valid California DLs from falling into the hands of Illegals. As long as 375,000 valid signatures are certified by the CA Secretary of State before December 4th, the whole matter will be stayed until the March Primary.

Since Arnold is on the sidelines, this is how and where McClintock can make his move, especially against Bustamante.

RINO stands for "Republican In Name Only".

Which candidate, McClintock or Schwarzenegger, supports 100% the California GOP's charter?

Hint, he's not from Austria.

I will. Entirely different situation though. California conservatives have had every chance in the world to get a better governor than what they have and they have blown it time and time again. New York conservatives aren't very numerous or impressive either, but on a much harder playing field, they have produced a far better situation in the past decade than Californians have. Listening to California conservatives whine about their state's problems and blame them on other people is pretty funny.

Ueberroth is FOR drivers licenses for illegal aliens.

And pro-abortion. Look for him to endorse Arnold, the other GOP candidate who doesn't support the sanctity of life, a concept clearly stated in the California GOP's charter.

He is? I didn't know that. I believe that he said that his endorsement will be based on a comparison of Arnold's and Tom's jobs programs.

Does it really mean anything if you support 100% of the GOP charter when you will never, ever, ever win a statewide election in your life? I'm sure some guy sitting in the desert in his militia bunker supports the charter and then some. He's probably not going to help anyone much either.

I will bet that Simon and Ubberroth get half as many votes as they would if they stayed in. With 133 names on the ballot and the confusion of the names randomness we could have the Flordia Supreme Court settling this election...
