"The decision follows two special sessions on congressional redistricting during the summer. Neither produced a new redistricting plan as Democrats in the Texas Senate blocked a floor vote on a proposal."Notice how conveniently this AP hack-job left out HOW the rats previously blocked the floor votes. I guess it wouldn't look good to print something like: "... as Democrats in the Texas Senate blocked a floor vote on a proposal by fleeing to adjacent states to avoid the probable loss."

(THIS JUST IN! It turns out that I'm pro-choice. I choose revolvers.)
I wish I could sit in the State Capitol Building and watch the Special Session.
Since the guys post obligatory pictures of people like Ann Coulter (yes, I dig her too, just not the same way you guys do...) I think we ladies need an obligatory picture of The Handsome Guv.

Under the Texas Constitution, the Governor has the power to declare those RAT seats vacant and appoint replacements.
That's what he should have done. Maybe the next time...

Is this really going to result in redistricting? Or will it be the same old disappointment?

"Any new congressional boundaries drawn by lawmakers would have to be approved by the U.S. Department of Justice. There is uncertainty on the deadline for drawing new lines in time to gain the federal approval for use of the new districts in the March 2 primaries."
We now have in this land two branches of government that make laws and public policy, and Congress is the lesser of the two.

Our bad luck that he isn't the Majority Leader. I'm liking Perry more all the time.

Why announce this 6 days in advance, just gives the 51 fools in the House a chance to leave.

Neither produced a new redistricting plan as Democrats in the Texas Senate blocked a floor vote on a proposal. What a dishonest way for the AP to phrase a clearly criminal enterprise.
Blocked? More like criminally evaded their sworn duty.
