Its 4:46am September 6.
Its a little more than 100 hours from the Second Anniversary of Start the World Trade Center Attack and the subsequent Strike on the Pentagon and the Crash in Pennsylvania. 100 hours seems to be a long time; however, it is barely enough to reflect and remember all those who perished on the ground and in the air. Each one of the victims has a story, a life, that if retold would take more than 100 hours to appreciate the richness of their stay on this earth before it was snatched away.
Since 911, there has been more sacrifice. More have taken from this earth this time not in tragedy but in a quest for justice and the expansion of freedom. They were not helpless victims but Heroes of liberation for the Afghanis and Iraqis and protectors of our domestic security.
We would hope that you would take the time and reflect on the lives of those who died on 9-11 and those who have sacrificed their all since that day in these next 100 hours. Please contribute a post of reflection, a prayer, a memorial, a picture or even just a ping to your friends to let them know that 9-11 has not been ignored this year.
Never forget

I was watching a bit of the Discovery Channel's "Attack on the Pentagon" program late last night....one new detail that gacve me goosebumps...the 11 year old son of a Navy CPO who was on duty at the Pentagon that day was a passenger on the plane that crashed into the building. He was flying out to Cal to represent his school in some type of competition...I hadn't heard of this before...just awful....

Fondly remembering Freeper BKO....Barbara K. Olsen....author extrodinaire....many here might not realize that she logged onto R most every day..it gave her a good sense of what the reqal pulse of America was...and just occasionally she'd opine on a thread...I had the great good fortune to be an occasional Freepmail correspondent with her...I'd regale her with insider info as to Hillary's comings and goings in Chappaqua...when her book "Hell to pat" came out...we were gonna try and get an author's night for her at the Chappaqua Public Library...her schedule was sooooo full, she could never give me an open date with which to try and browbeat the library board....I miss her..she was awesome on the tube.....and hope her husband Ted is doing well....

I had hoped to see that one. I saw the earlier two on the WTC. Very chilling, but good explanations of the structure the kept me (a civil engineer) interested, but expalined it so anyone could understand.

Wonderful thread, thank you jriemer. The war on terror is going to be long and difficult, but we will prevail in whatever theater necessary.

I saw the other show, as well..seems to me that the engineering world is not as sure as it used to be as to what caused the collapse...the fire supposedly weakened the spans that held the floors..but the jet fuel, which ignited the fire..all burned out quickly..what could have been in the towers that would have burned that hot?....
FWIW..what would, IMHO, be really interesting, for an article..or a TV show is what would have happened had the towers NOT collapsed..i.e. the fires were somehow put out...the challenge of demolishing the tops of the two buildings would have been even more amazing than the construction...

This is what Darryl Worley's song "Have You Forgotten?" is all about. This list should be shown repeatedly this week along with footage of the WTC under attack and the Pentagon and the field in PA. We have not forgotten the attacks and will always remember.

Sad that most of those governments are no longer standing with us. I'm sure that the people they are supposed to be representing are, however.
