All english-speaking media outlets have been SHUT OUT of this event, but the news of the ceremony has been splashed over spanish-speaking media outlets inviting the public to attend!

I can understand Davis' desire to make this a private ceremony. After all, we can all relate - we close the bathroom door when we eliminate bodily wastes, don't we?
And the result of this despicable bill will be essentially the same for the people of California - human waste are being rewarded for lawbreaking and are being given the same rights as Americans who came here legally.

"... this will make our streets safer ... allow all drivers to get insurance..." I heard this same claim from a caller to Walter Williams (Rush stand-in) today. Oh, yeah, the reason illegal immigrants want driver's licenses is so they can buy insurance.
Yeah, right. {Snicker.} Are these people that dumb, or do they just think we are?

Ping me with information on the referndum if you find where it could be downloaded. I heard Tom talking about it on John and Ken yesterday. I will hit the streets on that one even more so than the recall, and we don't even need as many signatures. That one is going on the March ballot baby! 187 all over again.

They think we're that dumb --- like the illegals who fail the test (sure --- like they'll be even given a test) stop driving, and those who can't afford expensive auto insurance will now stop driving.

You take your driver's license to the polling place on election day, tell the election worker that you live at the address shown on the card,Where I live in the Inland Empire...they don't even bother to check ID. Ya just point to your name and say that's me, sign the book and they hand you a ballot. It is very lax.

"La raza" means the race, yeah. But it also has a lot of freight in Mexico, as an idiom. See, one of the most explosive facts in Mexican society is the stratification of the races. Instead of a "colour bar" like Apartheid, they have a "colour continuum".
The more European blood you have, the more money and power you have. It's a nearly linear correlation. The more Indian blood you have, the more poverty and suffering you can count on. Similar.
In the past, this has caused social unrest and even revolution and guerilla wars in Mexico.
"La Raza" is a Mexican fiction that keeps the lid on this pressure cooker. It is the official party line, parroted by all but actually believed by none, that there are no different admixtures of Mexican bloodlines, and everybody is equally mixed... Mestizo... which is The Race.. "La Raza".
So it means "race" in the sense of the English word, too, and you are not mistaking the racist separatism and exclusion it implies. But it also has this meaning of "Mexican unity." Razistas like Bustamante consider themselves the brothers of Vicente Fox and other Mexicans, not Americans. Anyone who identifies as American, no matter if his name is 100% Mexican, is "fuera de la raza".
What does it mean to be outside of the elect race? I suggest you ask the Jews of Eastern Europe, if you can find any. They'll have an interesting perspective on Bustamante's racial agenda.

The largely Spanish-speaking crowd at the SB 60 signing today were told "You are legal now."
So reported KFI Radio this evening.
This bill isn't about "driving your children to school," the chant used by Gov. Gray Davis at the signing.
This bill is about getting illegal immigrants the right-to-vote.
"You are legal now."
Whoopee.

The largely Spanish-speaking crowd at the SB 60 signing today were told "You are legal now." God help us.
You know who else can vote, the Al Qada agents in San Diego. I wonder if they will vote "No on the Recall, Yes on Bustamante"? Better yet, I wonder if they will upgrade their class C drivers license for a class A and drive a large bomb in a semi from over the boarder straight into a nuclear power plant. If McClintock and his group get the petition for the referendum online I will let you know.

You take your driver's license to the polling place on election day, tell the election worker that you live at the address shown on the card, and the nice lady hands you a 'provisional ballot'. It's counted as a vote and no-one checks to see if the voter is legitimate or not unless someone contests the results of the election. By that time, they 'lose' the provisonal ballots somehow so that the veracity of the voter's eligibility cannot be checked. I believe that somehow it has become bad policy to ask for ID at a polling place (it may be a form of discrimination.)
All I've shown for years is my ballot booklet and very rarely an I.D. card. But, now, everyone will have the ID card if requested to show one!
Just think. Once they've registered to vote at the DMV, many illegal immigrants, and people with fake identiites who want to vote multiple times, will be mailed ballot booklets of their own.
The beats goes on...

Is there any way whatsoever to block this, via the courts (either state or federal)...?We can't even block the Campaign Finance Reform Act which makes stops all anti-candidate ads in the last 60 days of an election. I don't know if there is time before the 2004 elections.

This is an absolute DISASTER and a serious breach of National Security, IMHO. Why the hell did don't they sign the damned thing six days later on September 11th, to not only commemorate the 3000 killed, but to send a signal to terrorists that, after 24 short months, the idiots have their legs spread open again for another national rape! Sick!
Great catch!

Yes, we need to support those organizations that work to stop these abuses of power!!
We can't depend on the courts to "do it" for us because lawyers are behind these planned attacks on
our freedoms in the first place ala Bill and Hillary Clinton and their dominance of the Democrat Party!
Why else do people think the Average-Joe is so powerless lately???
We have no chance against these well-thought out strategies!
The only way to counter these lawyer-led attacks on America is to enlist other lawyers who can smell-the-skunks out and turn them on their backs!!
That's why I donate to Judicial Watch.
