You are missing the whole point of what is going on in this country today.

Have you read the book TREASON? Do you have any idea the implications of what this book is hinting at?

It has come down to the American people versus the Anti-American element within the Democratic Party. Many within that party, if not most, are communists.

Arnold is inspired in that he understands why America is great.
In this day and age, this has become a conservative issue, because so many on the Democratic left are anti-America.

Arnold is a good person. I venture to say that some day he will come around and realize that abortion is wrong.

Meanwhile, as Governor, Arnold will have no power to reverse abortion. Do you want someone who is willing to lie to you? Someone who makes a big deal out of being anti-abortion, when they know damn well they have no power to outlaw it? Does that sit well with you?

I see a lot of room for people to manipulate you if that's all it takes.
In fact, the Democrats have ALREADY manipulated you on the topic.

They did it by persuading you to vote for Simon, because he had the right words, knowing that he had no power.

Do you really want it to be that easy to manipulate?

Because you make it too easy for the Democrats to play dirty pool. Open your eyes, see beyond the rhetoric and see that the down-fall of America is at your doorstep.

As an Illinoisan, how does CA's Governor impact you 1 iota? The CA Governor has no say in anything that impacts you. Why do you care?

Things that happen in California affect the rest of the country, believe me. Sadly so, by and large. As a Californian, I can tell you there will be a helluva lot of difference between Davis and Ahnold. Just the Workman's Comp issue alone will make a huge difference for businesses here.

Money over principle, as more and more of our freedoms are lost...

So with all your ranting about issues surrounding life, and the implication with your holier-than-thou attitude that you are superior to Schwarzenegger supporters, are you one of those that hope Bustanmante wins if McClintock can't, so Californians can suffer under the yoke of Bustamante in order to see your point and finally vote your way in 2006?

I may have ranted about something today, but it wasn't this, thank you. I don't claim to be superior to anyone, being a Christian.

To answer your question, it is empowering to one's principles to vote on one's principles. It is destructive of principles to exhalt other issues over them. If one realizes this, the rest is not worth considering. That being the case, the answer to your question is, no.

Here are my probability estimates:

Chance of Arnold winning if McClintock stays in the race = 20%

Chance of Bustamante winning if McClintock stays in the race = 80%

Chance of Arnold winning if McClintock withdraws = 60%

Chance of Bustamante winning if McClintock withdraws = 40%

Chance of McClintock winning under any circumstances = 0%

Tell you what, try to elect Senators and Congressman in Illinois who will take on the abortion issue, and we'll try to elect Senators and Congressmen who do the same thing.

Other than that, you're somewhat of a screech.

Money is principle. Anyone who fails to recognize that economic freedom goes hand in hand with political and religious freedom needs to go back and read the history of this nation's founding.

With all due respect, you couldn't have read my post and still made such ridiculous comments.

I've been involved in politics, in one way, shape or form for 35 years now. I've never been manipulated by any politician or candidate. My objective is to see conservatism triumph over liberalism. That means supporting the most conservative candidate available. In the campaign for California governor, that man is Tom McClintock.

Rnold Schwarzenegger is a liberal RINO. I can't think of one social issue that we agree on. And as of right now, I can't think of a single economic issue we agree on either. Rnold has gone from spewing platitiudes to spewing generalities in his public pronouncements.

>>>Open your eyes, see beyond the rhetoric and see that the down-fall of America is at your doorstep.

My eyes ARE wide open. I hold the same doom and gloom beliefs you have about America's future. I'm an eternal optimist, not a pessimist like you.

"it is empowering to one's principles to vote on one's principles"

that is a self deception.
it does NOT empower you to lose, because whenever you do, the principles you held dearly, do not advance one iota...

You are tuning up to sing yet another stanza of the losers song sister.
Of course, I stand behind your right lose on principle... but to say it is "empowering" to you or will save even one baby... is deception.

You can influence direction of things, when you are in the party that wins... and none other.

So, just go ahead, and stay home when your man drops out next week or vote for him anyway and LOSE on principle... I am sure the Good Lord will be pleased that we (once again) made a failing stand on alleged principle and have thus guaranteed NO lives will be saved as a result. Brilliant.

You guys are too much. You act as if your crowd alone is the "lone voice in the wilderness crying 'make way for the Lord'!" but you end up being an isolated, powerless, bunch of self-disenfranchised kooks. This is because you stubbornly refuse to effect a seventy percent change in policy, because you might have to compromise thirty percent to get any desired movment...

Who wants to empower a bunch of pathetic losers as they refuse to compromise and then whine about the loss of their place at the table all for their "holy religious convictions"?
I hate abortion... and want progress made... but the all or noners "and I want it all NOW" are just as much a hindrance to moving towards life as the NOW is in keeping us stagnated in death.

I have to say: "So be it... But YOU could have made a difference, had you learned to make your moves to the right side of the road, in smaller steps...

All or none... usually gets you NONE...

If you don't believe it, call William "The Gambler" Bennett... he's been to Vegas and can explain the principles of losing it all, for risking it all.

You don't seem to be directing your comments to me.

But, as long as liberal "Republicans" like Schwarzenegger know they can get your support, they will control your state party and they will never have a reason to pay attention to you.

Exactly. They go hand in hand. Who are the ones who are trying to separate them?

(Certainly not McClintock and his well-reasoned supporters.)
