Cool, this may be the day where he joins the Republican party by withdrawing and getting behind the electable candidate.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's liberal social views will earn him 10-15% of Democratic votes. Therefore, we should be voting our conscience as conservatives. This recall is not like a primary election. There are 143 candidates, all who will receive votes of varying degrees. The media can't predict this race, because it is a grass-roots effort. It can be won with 35% of the vote. If all conservatives vote for Tom McClintock, he can win. Period.

So spare me the insulting posts on every McClintock thread. We're either conservatives, or we're not.

This is a delightfully pretty layout.

The reality, however, in today's California is that a hardline conservative cannot WIN a statewide election to any significant office.

So, what to do....? Go down in flames, carrying the banner high ? And, live with Democrat policies well into the future ?

Or, do the right thing; think of the good of the Party and the State -- and, at a propitious time -- bow out and level the playing field for a candidate that, at least, has a good chance of WINNING !!

We conservatives have a penchant for shooting ourselves in the foot. Let's not repeat past mistakes. Perot comes clearly to mind. *S*

Cheers! And, win one for the Gipper.

Don't forget the WHOLE MAIN ISSUE! ELECTABILITY!

ARNOLD = ELECTABLE at this time.

McC is a candidate for another time.
He is a good guy who almost nobody knows and a person few if any Democrats would cross the isle to vote for.

Like I've said before, I am against losing more races due to running the ideal un-electable person.

You have to pick a time like the AngryClam person did when you have to see where things are for McC. The Clam person mentioned Sept 15th.
By Sept. 15th we have to see where this all is and two of the three Republicans need to get behind the most ELECTABLE candidate by that time or Cruz Bustamante gets elected.

I'm tired of seeing Californian conservatives lose the race to leftist Democrats because they will only vote in their ideals of perfection due to their supposed high principles.

Bottom line is, your high ideals with the wrong candidate will only elect again and again the Democrats to power.

I have said before that we need to regain California in steps. There is no skipping steps to any victory in this state.

In years, I've only been right about 100% of the time when I've spoken out on races and this is what I feel about this race.

If it is any candidate against Cruz but Arnold, Cruz wins!
If McC stays in to split the vote, Cruz will probably win by a slight percentage.
If McC drops, endorses Arnold, Arnold wins.

Bookmark the above statements and I bet I will again be proved right.

I'm not saying McC isn't a good conservative politician, I am saying that when you mention McClintock here in Southern California, most people usually say, "WHO"?!.

He is a great candidate for ANOTHER race.
