Who has the authority to suspend the state's chief justice?

What I can't understand is why any of clinton's judges are still sitting. After all they were appointed by a felon. How bizarre is that? They should all be swept off in light of this fact.

Whoever made the complaint to the ethics committee made a big, big mistake. This issue is not going away.

The attacks on tradition and decency have been coming one right after another lately...note that a Florida judge today ruled that a husband can starve his wife to death to collect on the life insurance.

It's time for Bush and the 'pubs to drop the nuclear option on judicial appointments, fill the ranks with GOOD judges, and make sure Chief Justice Moore is one of them.

This is outragous! As a nation of Christians, why can't we worship our God as se see fit? It's time to take our country back from the heathans and non-Chrisitans. They can live here I guess (deportation isn't exactly PC) but they should shut the h*ll up and leave us alone!!!

It is no coincidence that this is happening in Alabama. The statue/10 commandments have been there for well over a year.
Alabama Atty General = Bill Pryor,
US Senate Judicial Committee fillibuster = Bill Pryor's appointment
To those who thought the US Senate Judiciary Committee fillibuster and the pubbies inability to do anything about the fillibusters: Your strategery at work.
The message to Pryor was--play ball or your nom will never get out of the US Senate Judiciary Committee.

I am waiting for BamaG, Chancellor Palpatine, sinkspur, ConsistentLibertarian and the many others who hate Moore to come on and gloat...CELEBRATE! The Ten Commandments will no longer pervert the minds of Alabama's youth. HURRAY! Judeo-Christian values are defeated! YAHOO!! Justice Moore is disgraced. C'mon let's hear it!

Wheter or not we agree with a ruling, if we refuse to abide by it, aren't we advocating anarchy? I thought we had to abide by all the laws, not simply the ones that we agree with. There are legal challenges that may be undertaken to overturn a lae or decision if they are truly unjust, that's what makes this country so great. Just a thought.

Why does'nt president Bush step in?Now that the federal court has opened the door that also means the president can intervene with an executive order proclaiming the Ten Commandments a national monument/treasure,etc..After all, clinton did this kind of thing everytime you turn around.

One good thing about this whole mess, is that the issue God and Government is kept on center stage. Judge Moore has brought more attention to this issue, and what might have been a smoldering coal, has been fanned into a flame.
People are picking sides on this issue and there will be a show-down in the near future.

According to the Fox website, he's been suspended for ten days. I'm sure that there must be some mechanism for having such a decision reviewed, but maybe the more interesting question is whether CJ Moore will comply with the order in any event. I assume that he feels that, since he did nothing wrong, an order of suspension is illegal and can be just ignored. It will be interesting to see. ;-)
