Precisely my point, Protagoras. The "other side" routinely edits the Constitution, and did so again in the ruling against Judge Moore, by excluding equal consideration for the language in the First Amendment concerning a prohibition against one's free practice of religious faith.

I did not edit, by the way, but used an excerpt for the purposes of clearly stating the additional language in the First Amendment concerning the freedom of, not from, religion.

What I did is nothing different from what one may see in a book on the mechanical arts in which a safety guard is removed for the purposes of clearly showing the procedure that is to be instructed.

In this case, the safety guard is the mask employed for decades by those who wish to reframe the meaning of our Constitution.

I'll put that illustrative "guard" back here to appease your insistence, not to "help my credibility,"
