Fox wakes up morning TV (Fox & Friends)

Fox & Friends, the hottest show on morning cable, doesn't get the attention that broadcast powerhouses such as NBC's Today or ABC's Good Morning America do.

And its hosts, E.D. Hill, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, have miles to go before they become news stars like Katie, Matt, Diane or Charlie.

We got to enjoy Loren Greene playing piano with Yoyo Ma (sp?) a couple of weeks ago...The show and the viewpoints always seem fresh--and there is a remarkable dearth of "talking points" type stuff, which I personally appreciate. They just talk. Cheery. I like it. They all have their own points of view, but no professional spinners.

I totally gave up on the networks years ago.

Though the morning banter is always polite between NBC's Katie Couric and Matt Lauer, on Today they keep things light and fun but assiduously avoid revealing their biases.

What they meant to write was "assiduously avoid admitting their biases."

F&F is great. Especially when Kilmeade took it to Jeanne Garofalo. Oh, and E.D. Hill is HOTT!!!

Actually, Mancow was talking about a segment they had about a San Francisco luge race in which these guys were sliding down a steep hill in a two-man luge. So Mancow asked, "What do you call it when two men slide down those ice-holes?" Brian said, "Homosexuality?" Then Steve and ED left, taking everything off the set, while the producers cut the lights. Very funny indeed!

Imus gets 364,000

My God, I knew he was doing poorly, but I didn't realize it was THAT bad.

I can't believe MSNBC keeps them on the air.

I am one of those viewers who hated all morning TV shows (they really are terrible beyond words) until this one came out. It is excellent.

The best was when Kilmeade took it to Bill Clinton in the streets of NYC two days after 9-11. Brian grilled Clinton about whether *HE* felt responsible for the attacks because he never dealt with Bin Laden. Brian wouldn't let up on him. It was great.

I must agree with your opinion of the weekend hosts. Juliet is painfully lightweight. Allison Camerata filled in this past weekend with great results.

As to the USA Today article.....wonderful to have my morning choice validated by the shows universal popularity. Just love those people. Hope the big bucks flow their way!

Okay, I think I have figured this out.

The author really meant to say "NBC's Katie Couric and Matt Lauer, on Today they keep things light and fun but assiduously avoid revealing they are big asses."

That was JUST the episode I was going to post about. Wasn't that great? You are right...Kilmeade went right up to him and asked him point blank if he felt reponsible (while Clinton was in the middle of his tour of the New York streets and hugging attractive females and feeling their.....pain) and Clinton looked gobsmacked that someone would ask him that. Ha!

Watching a dull guy like Imus do a radio program is like watching paint peel. His days are numbered.

My favorite was when they had one of the FoxBabes(TM) subbing for ED, and Brian managed to dump over some monstergulp coffee during a break. When the cameras came back on, he and the babe were cleaning the spill off the table, and she was visibly pissed because it got all over her no doubt expensive shoes, a strappy set of CFM pumps.

E.D. is a mother to 7 kids and is expecting #8 in February. Good for her, but not sure how she manages.

I'm so glad y'all told this story. I saw that segment, but missed the punchline! I've wondered for months what Brian said that caused that hilarious reaction, and couldn't think of any way to find out.
Doh! Shoulda asked the FReepers...

That woman is dynamite!
The three are great but things change quite noticably when ED isn't there. She seems to have the ability to pull it together. Other females haven't seemed to "do" the chemistry.

Does anyone remember the show where Brian spoke about his vacation to Disney World and how he was at a character breakfast with his kids? He wanted one of the characters to come to his table with his kids and apparently the characters weren't going by many tables. He was aggravated that he had paid so much for this breakfast and was not even getting a character near his kids so he starts after one of the characters!!! ILMAO!!!! It was hysterical...I think he has been permanently banned from Disney World!
I Love Brain!!!!!

I think Fox & Friends will continue grow in viewship. Already everyone I know watches Fox at night, most of the people I know are so tired in the morning however, that they sleep right up until the time to throw their clothes on and head off for work.

Say what?!?

CNN executives have dismissed F&F as "fluff" and say that they are pleased with how American Morning, which focuses on hard news, has been received by viewers.

LOL. Guess this guy doesn't watch either program.

"The show reflects the times we live in," Ailes says. "In general, Americans are optimistic, resilient, curious people, and I think our show reflects that."

Well put. Treating us like we have functioning brains in our head doesn't hurt, either :)
