I would have thought a Auto plant would have their own electical producing plant. Yikes! Hate to get THAT bill every month.

Any energy expert from California would be suspect, though.
I would think that the problem would be fairly easy to trace by the times that the power went out.

However, the blurb reads that it was the plant officials who had the power anomaly...

That must have hurt!

"It's one of those events that being such a complex system ... that could not have been prevented," said Professor Iqbal Husain of the University of Akron of Blackout 2003.

Hmmm, lemme guess...his professor's seat is funded by utility concerns? Prof. Husain will have a tough time convincing average joe stuck in a subway why an electrical problem in a factory a thousand miles away had him sleeping on the dirty streets of NY last night.

What, a new problem with producing Crown Victorias?

Bite your tongue! The Vic is NOT a General Mistake.

The GM facility in Parma does their pressed metal.

I would have thought a Auto plant would have their own electical producing plant.

If it had its own power production plant, it might still be connected to the grid for 'cogeneration.'

Petronski knows all about Crown Victorias. EG see his posts here:

And if this current crisis occured at the Parma plant, I'm sure he'll have much more to say, which I'm looking forward to.

Parma, south of Cleveland, on a day an Indian hits the cycle, first time in 25 yrs, almost as long ago as the other great blackout of 1977.Coincidence, I think not ;-)

I don't know what it all means, but I smell something!

Everything I can find about Iqbal is his research is involved with auto motors - not utility electricity transmission. Received grants from Delphi Automotive, for one. He could be shilling for the industry, but hey, what ever happens in a factory shouldn't effect a region.

"Iqbal Husain- interesting name- no?"

Scarey thought to think anyone named Iqbal Husain has such intricate and insider knowledge of our electrical grid system.

That settles it then, It's definately George Bush's fault.

More likely Drew Carey. "Hey guys why don't you leave early, nothing ever happens and these power plants."

"... the country is broken into three grids for electric distribution. They are eastern, western and Texas."

How long before Bush is linked to Texas being on their own grid?
