What ever station Hannity is on, 790 AM LA went dead for about 20 seconds. He came back on and said they had never seen anything quit like it. Anyone else go down?

Any updates?

We'll know soon enough...the news nets are in NYC, and will report it.

Never seen anyhting like it? There was a huge power outage in the Northeast a couple decades ago due to a glitch at a Quebec hydro plant.

Power outtages happened before 9/11, too. Let's see.

Called my wife out on LI, suffolk county, black out there too. That's a large distance - 50-60 miles worth.

Confirm a pair of 2 second bumps about 5 seconds apart in Branford, CT... power back on now though.

So is it a surge or outage? Around here outages are frequent.

A lot of the Northeast's power comes from Canada. Is Chretien having another hissy-fit? :-)

Odd - we had a power surge here in NW Ohio just about the same time.

I can tell you that here in Stockbridge Michigan we were hit with something right around the same time. Lansing TV and some radio stations are still off the air. Power is back on here. Was only out for about 30 seconds.

I'm glad that so many NE FReepers have those new gas powered 'puters. Otherwise, we'd never have heard from them once the power went out!
