No. 6 appointed by Wilson and Deukmejian (GOP); 1 appointed by Davis, but that one hasn't seemed to be a liberal in the past. I'd say the court is right down the ideological middle.

McClintock is well known as a budget-cutter to those who read California voters' pamphlets, and we get those every election. They are necessary to figuring out how to vote on the many initiative/referendum propositions on the ballot. This detail is not known to people who don't vote in California elections.

Additionally former Vermont Governor Dean's presidential campaign shows that the internet can have a major impact on a significant campaign.

We've got a shot. It won't be easy, and it would help a lot if California Attorney General Lockyer runs in the recall to further divide the Democratic vote, but it IMO (and I managed California Democratic primary campaigns at the county level before becoming a Republican) is possible for McClintock to win.
