Anybody else listening to Brit Hume's panel? It sounds like Barnes and Kondracki are both pushing Arnold pretty hard, and Juan Williams is practically apopleptic at the idea. Just before the break, he finally more-or-less advocated Bustamante. When Hume asked the panel to list "the major players" they said Ah-nold, Bustamante, Davis and Simon. No mention of McClintock at all. Is he just a local phenomenon, or are these guys all completely out of touch?

LOL! I have read this whole thread looking for the "announcement" that I thought I missed while I had the grandkids at the pool.
Now I am listening to Fox talk about Arnold, and my naive husband says, "If Arnold was unfaithful, why would Maria stay married to him?"
Answer: Because she is a Kennedy, dear.

I like McClintock, but he's all wet on being able to void the contracts. Davis tried, and he knew it was pretty much political life and death for him to do so. Huh? Why in the world would Davis do that when Energy companies like Enron have been a major campaign contributors to Gray Davis?

I remember, when I was entagled in family court, wondering, "At what point do I look at the judge and say to myself, this is now mano y mano." There cand and SHOULD be a line that, once crossed, puts the situation in that context.

A month's delay won't make a difference... putting it off til March on the other hand - well we'll find out in 10 minutes won't we?

They're not going to cancel the recall. Even the CSC is smart enough not to do that. It would be like lighting a match to barrels full of kerosene. That would be a rather big powder keg. The sound would reach Denver.

I probably could too, but it would still be the CSC rewriting legislation on its on whim because it wants to.

Wrong, this is his position:
Governor Davis ignored the energy issue as the crisis was building, and didn?t spend any time dealing with it until blackouts were already upon us. Then, Davis had his chief negotiator, a consultant for the energy companies, negotiate with those energy companies and sign $42 billion dollars in massively overpriced energy contracts.
Senator McClintock has pledged to immediately sign a stipulation for the court case seeking to void those contracts, admitting that Governor Davis? negotiator had a conflict of interest, allowing the court to void those contracts and save the people of California a small fortune.
?Those contracts were negotiated under a clear legal conflict of interest by Davis' chief negotiator. This governor won't stipulate to these simple facts because it would require him to admit wrongdoing. I'll certainly admit Davis has done some things wrong!?

Michael Medved said Maria and Arnold have a very happy marriage, and are devoted to each other. FWIW.

I just got home from work and I'm trying to dig the facts out of the 450+ post thread.
Can somebody give me the executive summary?
To: .38sw
I also heard him discussing that on KSFO. There were several suggestions made by McClintock that I think Arnold should also study; including rolling back and adopting an earlier budget.
Just heard Juan Williams talking about celebrity politics and that was a bad thing. Then he says Bustamante will get hispanics out to vote and that's a good thing.
To: lainie
And what can I you and I do about it? Squat, that's what.

I predict Davis will come out only if the CSC gives him everything he wants.
