Blast you! Wellll... [cracking knuckles]... since I got post #1000, I reckon I'll just head off to bed & read.
I figured if there wasn't gonna be a press conference, I could at least achieve a numerical goal.
My work here is done! :)

Agree.
Gov should be a bit afraid of the common man on the street
. . . and maybe a bit too hungry to linger at the public trough too long.
Trouble is, then only the sacrificial servant-hearted would apply . . . hmmmm not a bad thing
. . . except . . . there don't seem to be a lot of such people running around loose wanting tarnished in a political job.

Well, if nothing else this is a cheerful thread. See, Arnold has made us all happy! This is a good thing!
Been reading the disarray the dems have been in. Bet you President Bush and Karl Rove are sitting around the dinner table laughing themselves silly.
To: PhiKapMom
FOR SURE.
How would you rewrite the Constitution to help insure a strong overriding tendency to keep the higher oversight positions filled with quality people who'd risen to reputations of high inegrity in their normal spheres of life
INSTEAD OF CAREER POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS???
It's long been an interesting question I've chewed on.

This has been the funniest thread I have been on in a long time on here. Getting off for the night still chuckling.
We should do this more often!

Not lived in Calif for a long time . . .
But I just don't have any significant evidence that McClintoch makes a hyper-kinetic ADHD person's heart beat very fast.
Maybe he would be a wonderful man right down the center of our values. But if insufficient Californias are jazzed of the same opinion, he's a drag on someone who could smother the real democruds.

I went to the "other" site and found this hilarious gem for how the D'uh crowd suggests stopping Arnold:
Here's the plan:
Everyone on DU must immediately go out and see "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines."
With upwards of 30,000 members, the DU community can immediately cause that movie to earn another $200 million or so at the box office.
Then, Arnold will be even more inclined than ever to go ahead and make "T4" (which he's already stated his desire to do, pending the box office returns of this movie).
This, in turn, will mean that he can't serve as governor. He's already at the upper age limit for playing the murderous cyborg, and had to work very hard to get his 56-year-old physique in shape for the role. After even a single term as governor of California (and all the stress and aging that that task involves), he will simply not be able to play the role again.
So, if we all go out, tomorrow, and see the movie, we can save California from Arnold. As an added bonus, it's not such a bad movie! Not quite as good as "T2," but at least as much fun as "T1."
It's a foolproof plan, but only if we all mobilize. Who's with me?
Only D'uh'rs would think to stop a political movement by giving him money. LOL! Maybe we should let them add to Arnold's pot of money? Hehehehehehehe!
To: Quix
Too many people see the governorship of CA as a stepping stone to the presidency. Arnold is not qualified for that position, so he's not running for future ambitions. He's definately not running for the money. He's not running to become famous. He's not going to be influence by lobby groups.
I believe he is sincere when he says, he running for the people.
