Dick Morris will be on O'Reilly's TV show tonight expanding on his prediction that "Arnold will fade like a pretty girl at the door." Morris thinks many more Dems will enter the race. He aslo says that political amatuers have no business running for office.

Oh yes he can. For one if he runs as a Republican then he will be the titular head of the Republican Party in California.

The top Republican will be a homo-loving, gun-grabbing, baby killer. He will support his like-minded friends in other races statewide. This is what Pete Wilson did in the 90s and it damn near destroyed the party here. Its what we are fighting to overcome. It can get worse, much worse.

I think this is the first time that I've agreed with Morris on anything. Once California's conservative voters find out what a revolting liberal Arnold is he will fold up like a cheap lawn chair. This will be a replay of Riordan last year.

Demonrats know how to play this game and they will eat Aaaaaaaahnold alive (having nothing whatever to do with sex) as candidate or less likely as governor. When they finish with him, he won't be back.

Jesse Ventura was a lot smarter than people gave him credit for. In fact, his campaign for governor should serve as the perfect playbook for anyone looking to run as a third-party candidate. He knew that very few Democrats and Republicans would vote for him, so he spent all his resources tailoring his message to people who were either disenchanted or disinterested in politics. People I know in Minnesota told me that they knew he had a good chance of winning when they saw how many non-political friends of theirs were going to cote for him.

In the current recall situation in California, I'm looking beyond the positive and negative attributes of any individual candidate. The whole thing can only be good for this nation, if only to show career politicians and political machines that they are really just one step above child molesters after all.

And exactly how are people supposed to stop being political amatuers without running for office?

Isn't a delicious hypocrisy on several fronts?

First, there are always screams from the left to make things more democratic and here you have a free for all(various parties etc) which they call an affront to democracy. Of course several have already floated recalling the replacement.

Second, the endless screaming about the courts usurping the people has been the mantra since 2000. And who happens to be filing lawsuits to ensure they remain in power?

Third, already those who screamed that Clinton's sex life was nobody's business are ready to tear Arnold a new one over his skeletons.

People may think CA is crazy but most revolutions are.

Dick Morris is full of used food. Why FNC fawns over him like he's the second coming is beyond me...

FNC has a stable of Democratic operatives acting as "experts". It serves as "balance"; however, they don't identify them by party / ideological affliation and unless you know who they are, you get suckered. The most recent example that comes to mind is that former Ambassador to Morocco that they have as an expert who finally outed himself as a Clintoid after how many months of Iraq coverage. Only until things got tough for the occupation forces did he start revealing his stripes.

No there is actually good news. The more people there are in the race, the WORSE Arnold's chances are. There is only a certain amount of "circus" vote to go around. The additional clowns, celebrities, and leftists will take votes away from liberal Arnold.

Lots of candidates on the ballot tends to benefit a long time conservative leader like McClintock who has an established voter base. Fear not. We can still win this one.

BTW, I thought Clinton should be impeached and convicted. His sex life was enough our business in various litigations that he had an obligation not to perjure himself.

I'm with you...nothing infuriates me more than the news that some politician, or worse, "Public Servant" is leaving after spending 20-plus years in political office. What a disgrace.

If there is one thing that makes me support Arnold, its the fact that he is not a professional politician...YET!

Well, Dick Morris may be right, but as one of the state's leading political columnists has pointed out, people are prone to underestimate Schwarzenegger. He is the candidate to beat, IMO.

And here is the same writer's column explaining Why Arnold Will Win If He Runs. (Personally, as of now, I think Arnold has about a 67% chance of winning. The purer candidate ideologically, McClintock, has less of a chance, IMO, more like 50%.)

Schwarzenegger has a degree in business from U. of Wisconsin and invested successfully in real estate with what little money he got from appearing in "Pumping Iron." He was so astute at identifying, investing in, and improving the value of distressed real estate in the Santa Monica area that he was a millionaire before he became truly famous in "Conan."

And, yes, he has some very annoying liberal views on social policy questions.

My boss, a lovely man who kept calm during the wild and crazy days of the 2000 election while many of us were losing our minds over Florida, has predicted that Arnold will win and win big in CA.

This same man kept assuring me, over and over, that everything would turn out well for GW Bush and that he would be President. I have confidence that he will be right about Arnold as well. Why would ANYONE listen to anything Dick Morris has to say? As you state, he's never been "right" about anything!
