CALLING ALL Arnold Schwarzenegger Supporters:

I am announcing the creation of ArnoldGovernor.net . I have reserved the domain, but the site is up right now at a temporary URL which can be seen here (www.elephantparty.com). I am a Californian and a conservative - and I can say with certainty that Arnold represents the best chance we have of claiming California's governorship. I am posting this site for your review.

First, the others in the race. Bill Simon and Tom McClintock are both fine men, but they have lost important statewide races in the past. Simon lost a race against Davis last year which should have been a cakewalk given Davis' record. Most political analysts agree that Simon ran one of the worst campaigns in recent memory. McClintock is a virtual unknown statewide (let's not get fooled by our own echo chamber). The KEY to remember is that we have

Only 2 months (8 weeks) until Election Day. There is NO time to run someone who Californians have rejected in the past or a virtual unknown. For those who have leaned towards either of them, I'm appealing to your sense of reason to get behind someone with the best shot of winning. Now, why should we elect Arnold?

Arnold is a fiscal conservative but moderate otherwise. His stance on abortion will matter less than you might think- that's a matter for Supreme Court justices which the California governor has no say about. He is pro-business, pro-entrepreneurship, and tough on crime (witness his Proposition 49 which aims to reduce juvenille crime - a major, largely unaddressed component of crime). He is an "American by choice" and is very patriotic. People look at him and think "It's okay to be a Republican". With Schwarzenegger pulling a Total Recall on Grey Davis, Bush may actually find that California is friendly territory in 2004.

I am looking for pro-Arnold supporters to help:

1. Pitching Arnold's candidacy

2. Graphics design- create compelling visuals that are pro-Arnold or anti-Davis

3. Anyone else that wants to be pinged for pro-Arnold events.

4. Coming up with good one liners, spin, updates, opposition research, etc.

Let's team up! Thanks!!

Once I get your suggestions, I will update the site and in a few days, it will be at ArnoldGovernor.net . Thanks all Freepers for your help.

There's a big difference from a career politician and someone that steps into the job for a short period of time.

The problem is not CAREER politicians. To be effective in politics today you have to devote yourself to it entirely. The problem is LIBERAL politicians, of which Schwarzenegger is now one.

This doesn't help solve California's problems, it compounds them.

The messianic complex being demonstrated by moderate to liberal Republicans in this instance would be amusing if it wasn't so serious a blow to Republican principles and the prospects for restoring our republic.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is not the man on a white horse that is riding in to solve the problems created by years of socialist policy in California. He's just another Democrat wearing an R.

President Bush did not devote his entire life to politics, and he is successful. Ronald Reagan did not devote his entire life to politics, and he was very successful.

When did abortion and gun control become the main points of the Republican party? I always thought that the Republican party stood for lower taxes and a creating a healthy environment for businesses.

Now you're either being deliberately deceptive or incredibly ignorant.

The pro-life and pro-second amendment issues are two of THE most important issues to a large majority of Republicans, and to suggest otherwise is laughable.

It use to not be is the point, and it seems like people are trying to make the republicans into a 2 issue party. Well, I didn't join the republican party for those issues.

I joined twenty-fiver years ago because I wanted lower taxes, a smaller federal government, and a strong national defense. Those were my main issues. I'm not pro-abortion and I don't support gun controls, but those are not my main issues.

I would not support someone who is anti-abortion and pro-2nd admendment if they were going to increase taxes, grow the federal government, and be weak of our national defense.

I have a priority system, and I think a lot of Republicans have the same priority system as I do.

Good for you. Personally, I don't support candidates who are hostile to the unalienable right to life and liberty...the foundational principles of our republic.

If you think it's all about money, and not about any issues that go deeper than that, that is your problem.

But when the God-given rights to life and liberty are gone, you will find out that there is no money left either. Of course, by then, it will be too late.

LOL!!! Oh please! Assclown McClintock with his trash talk about withdrawing from state energy contracts!? LOL!!! Arnold may have admitted to smoking marijuana in the past but it sounds to me like McClintock is STILL hooked on the chronic to this day!! LOL!!!

Welcome to California sweetie, if you think someone like McClintock has a chance anytime in the near future, I've got some alien technology I'd like for you to consider investing in.

AHAHAHAHA!!!!

It just gets to be an exercise in futility reasoning with these pro-Ah-nold people. This is the panic that sets in after only 4 1/2 years of a 'Rat administration, they're willing to see their souls solely to have an "R" who will likely be worse than the current Governor. Some of us have had to suffer under 'Rat administrations for many, many years longer than this and never reach this level of panic. I've already been informed that Ah-nold intends to expand funding to that Marxist black hole known as Public Education (nevermind that there's no money to do it) and also to fully subsidize Day Care so the parents don't need to bother with the kiddies anymore, also with no money to pay for it. Folks, this is the Swedish model for Government, and it WON'T WORK.

Everyone around here talking about how he's SO impressive with his "expertise" on business ! Guys, this is Socialist, so what part of that do you fail to comprehend ? He's wrong on social issues up and down the line and he's a goddamned Socialist on economics. He's going to make Davis look like a moderate, he's going to make the 'Rats look like the party of stingy tightwads with taxpayer money and he's going to be like a nuclear bomb on the base of the GOP.

He will not, repeat, WILL NOT help the Republican Party in any shape, matter, or form, he will not, repeat, WILL NOT help George W. Bush carry California in any shape, matter, or form, WILL NOT help the Republican Party in any shape, matter, or form, he will not, repeat, WILL NOT help the Conservative movement in any shape, matter, or form, he will not, repeat, WILL NOT help improve the fiscal disaster in California in any shape, matter, or form.

He WILL make the 'Rat party the preeminent party in California for the next 50 years after he nails the lid shut on every value the GOP has ever stood for since after 1966. There is no situation, NONE, that would EVER justify selling our souls, none of you supporting Ah-nold hasn't EVER suffered that level of hardship for this abject insanity, ABSOLUTELY NONE.

For those that support Herr Ah-nold on economics, know that he is a Socialist, and that you are supporting a Socialist and not a Conservative. For those that don't have a problem with his social positions, know that you are supporting a Socialist who has no bones about supporting infanticide, gay marriage, taking away your right to bear arms. For those that don't care about his character, know that you are supporting a Socialist who has no bones about supporting infanticide, gay marriage, taking away your right to bear arms, cheats on his wife, has smoked dope, has assaulted women, sexually and physically. Now, knowing all of that, how can any person claiming to be a Republican in good conscience support everything, EVERY BASIC CORE PRINCIPLE, that the 'Rats support, share the same values the 'Rats support, engage in the same sleazy conduct as the 'Rats do, support someone who BLASTED our own party for following the Constitutional requirement to remove the previous President for high crimes & misdemeanors ?!

We would never even consider a 'Rat who would be an advocate for this insanity, so why do some get excited when a "Republican" does ?! If you can still do this and cheerfully support this man, you aren't Republicans. I don't give a damn if you claim to be, I don't care if you say you're Conservative. You support this, and you are doing nothing but aiding a fraud, supporting an evil ideology, and exacerbating the problems facing California, if not America, that much more, and put us deeper into a black hole. You deprive our party of any legitimacy to speak out on these issues of conscience fully and completely. We can't speak out against taxes and fees, because we will be its champions, we can't speak out against abortion, because we excuse it, we can't speak out against denying our 2nd Amendment Rights because we're taking it away, we can't speak against the abomination of special rights for gays because we will be empowering them, we can't speak against the dramatic expansion and subsidizing of the Socialist state, because we will also be its champions.

You all remember that there comes an incredible price for selling out on everything we stand for. I will not pay that price, others will not pay the price, and by God, you should wake up and realize YOU can't pay that price.

Think about it.

"cheats on his wife, has smoked dope, has assaulted women, sexually and physically."

So far, I haven't seen any proof that he cheats on his wife or that he has assaulted women.

As far as smoking dope, if it is in the past then I really don't care. Most people that are under 50 have done some sort of drugs.

You're just mudslinging, and I'm sick of it. It's a dem tactic that is so prevelant. The more mud swung at Arnold the better his chances. We're sick of mudslinging out here in California.

Tonight on "Hannity & Colmes", Tom Arnold (Arn-uld's co-star on "True Lies"} endorsed Arn-uld for Governor. Tom Arnold is a staunch liberal Democrat. He praised Arn-uld for being a different kind of Republican. Tom Arnold said there is not much difference between Arn-uld and a "Middle of the Road" Democrat. Thus I wonder, if Arn-uld wins the Recall Saga, who will he listen to? The Hollywood Left or the CA GOP?

Interesting.

I'm not a voter in Cali, so it probably is an exercise in futility reasoning with just an onlooker that have nothing at stake in this fight.

However, until McClintock actually comes forward and tell folks about himself and his vision for California, Ahnold seems to be the best ticket going in this circus.

You must be a strong soul to keep Helen Thomas on your profile.

Nope. I just have a grasp of history, and that's why I choose to avoid repeats of its most negative aspects. The question ought to be, what do you have against California to unleash this madness ?

"So far, I haven't seen any proof that he cheats on his wife or that he has assaulted women."

Yes, spoken like a true Clinton, er, Ah-nold supporter. Mind you, these are his positive aspects compared to all the rest, and I just threw them in for more proof of his lack of character.

"As far as smoking dope, if it is in the past then I really don't care. Most people that are under 50 have done some sort of drugs."

Really ? I turn 29 in a few weeks and somehow I've managed to stay away from drugs. I guess some of us are actually, ahem, responsible. But like I said, these are just more aspects of his weak character.

"You're just mudslinging, and I'm sick of it."

And I see you failed, madam, to read anything in that post regarding why Ah-nold's vision for California will worsen the situation beyond anything now. And I'm rather sick of that level of ignorance.

"It's a dem tactic that is so prevelant. The more mud swung at Arnold the better his chances. We're sick of mudslinging out here in California."

Madam, I will continue to tell the truth on this Socialist sleaze. You want to call it mudslinging, please go right ahead. I'll ask you the same thing I asked the other fella, what do you have against California to unleash this madness ?

"However, until McClintock actually comes forward and tell folks about himself and his vision for California, Ahnold seems to be the best ticket going in this circus."

He already has. McClintock ought to be the focus of media attention on his vision of sanity that CAN be restored to California, but isn't with the sleazy Austrian Socialist and his pointless platitudes being fawned over by clueless nitwits.

"You must be a strong soul to keep Helen Thomas on your profile."

Hehehe...
