I would be willing to bet that the Southern Baptist Convention will not welcome gays and lesbians as ministers. Believe you can take that one to the bank!

This is heartbreaking. I was married in the Episcopal church (my husband was a member). I was raised Catholic, but would not agree to raise my children as Catholics. We are now Southern Baptists. I would not join a church that accepts gays as members of the clergy. If this trend continues-look for a large sex scandel similar to the one in the Catholic church- very sad day.

Same with the Presbyterian Church in America.

I'm pretty sure Lutheran Church Missouri Synod will not welcome gays or lesbians as ministers either.
However, I do have a question regarding the Lutheran Church and its various synods. The Evangelical Lutherans are currently in communion with the Episcopalians. Clergy from either donomination can serve in each others church. Does anyone understand the current relationship between the Evangelical Lutherans and LCMS. In my mind, this gay ordination could be grounds for the Lutheran church to further split. LCMS remains wholly committed to Orthodox interpretation of scripture. ( No women, gays, or lesbians holding ministerial office. )

I wouldn't be too smug about what Southern Baptist's will or will not accept - Jimmy Carter claims to be one and apparently has Church support - even when he gives his support to the likes of Bill Clinton. And too many Southern Baptists are/were supporters of Billy Boy at the polls.
