World's Largest Gay Congregation Votes For Independence Dallas' Cathedral of Hope Breaks From UFMCC

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The world's largest gay congregation has voted to become an independent church.

On Sunday, the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas voted to leave the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches.

Earlier this month, the Rev. Michael Piazza gave up his ministry credentials after a complaint was filed against him regarding finances at the church. He continues on as dean and co-pastor of the church.

Actually, according to the article in the Dallas Morning News, they are applying to join the United Church of Christ...
