NBC: Handling of Sons “Quite Offensive to Islamic Sensibilities”

NBC’s Richard Engel offered a more sweeping scolding than did other reporters of the U.S. for laying out for video cameras the bodies of Uday and Qusay Hussein. He called the decision “controversial” and insisted “all of this has been quite offensive to Islamic sensibilities here. Muslims are generally buried in a simple white shroud without any embalming process at all.”

On Friday’s NBC Nightly News, Tom Brokaw asked Engel in Baghdad: “Richard, as you well know, there’s fresh video tonight as well of the bodies of Saddam’s two sons after they were cleaned up by Army morticians. We want to warn everybody, the images are still very graphic, but are those new images any more persuasive to the Iraqi people?”

Richard suggested the U.S. messed up again: “They are not really more persuasive. But they certainly are more controversial. These bodies were quite radically altered. First, the men were shaved, then putty was used to remodel their faces, make-up was also applied to make them look more life-like. The Americans, however, say these are certainly the men and even displayed a metal plate that bears the identical serial number to a plate that was inserted in Uday’s leg after an assassination attempt in the 1990s. All of this has been quite offensive to Islamic sensibilities here. Muslims are generally buried in a simple white shroud without any embalming process at all, Tom.”

Keep remembering that Israeli soldier hanging out the pali office building window about a year or two ago that showed a bloodied, mutiliated body courtesy of being beaten and tortured to death by an islamic crowd. Now, I ask what was that again about offending islamic sensibilities?

So if they aren't Muslims, how could the treatment of them affect Islamic sensibilities?

They were muslims when it was convenient, like ruling through a terroristic regime. Their thinking was that devout muslims will accept such treatment from another muslim in the name of religion, but not in the name of secularism or whatever. And the Gruesome Threesome understood this and used it to their advantage, much like Lenin & Stalin.

Not really.
In most muslim nations, midwives take care of births. and that's about it.
Specifically under the Taliban, women were 'doctored' by being 'examined' on the other side of a sheet. All that was visible was their mouth, and they had to answer questions.
In other nations, women are denied medical, or given very mediocre or minimal care.

In the most secular nations, there are women doctors for women, but the level of care is still not up to snuff as the funding is not available.

NOW is too busy being gleeful at Democrats raping women, they glory in victimhood.
They want nothing to do with actually making things better for women, they want power and more victims to add to their powerbase.

That's the most basic rub about Islamic medicine and how it treats women. There's alot more info, and alot more detail available. But that is the basic general rule of thumb.
In their eyes, "If it's female, it's not worth having except for having children."
There are few exceptions, but there are some.
But they are few and far between.
