The "Gun Culture"? No... It's the CRIME CULTURE, stupid!

Leftists, the softheaded, and the bleeding-hearted in media, politics, and academe talk a lot about guns and crime. Seldom does a day pass without some smug, smarmy, avuncular or nannyish talking head spouting off on national television, expounding on the "obvious" causal link between availability of guns and violent crime, selling yet another installation of "reasonable" restrictions on the rights of law-abiding citizens, yet another iteration of the incremental erosion of the most fundamental of all of out natural rights.
They talk a lot, these media darlings. Buth they never really say anything, do they? One would think that blowing holes in their vaporous arguments would be as easy as pie, wouldn't you? A task so easily done that it would of course have BEEN done, completely, with no chance of evasion, some dozens of years ago. But, no, it hasn't. It hasn't, the lid to this particular coffin HAS NOT been nailed shut, because we of and on the Right have never had the guts to speak the principle truth that these fools so studiously ignore.
Well, I -for one- am fed up.
Here is the basic, ugly, unvarnished truth:
The crime rate in this country is not caused by guns. It is not caused by the real, traditional gun-culture which the anti-gunners like to call "the gun nuts". It is not even caused by this vague, amorphous, indescript thing they have trumped up as the "culture of violence".
The crime rate in this country is caused by THE CRIME CULTURE.
You know, that culture which espouses the principles of the irresponsible scofflaw, the rogue, the ruffian, the bad-boy, the barbarian, that behaving badly is "cool", that committing felonies for fun and profit is A-OK, and that the rest of us must always "tolerate" it in the name of "diversity". To put the crime rate in this country to decline, we must address this culture, and those who actively promulgate it, directly and harshly.
This truth is self-evident. To start from any lesser premise is to lose the debate.
That is something we can no longer afford to do.

Whoops. Please strike the word "while" from the quote in my first paragraph.
Back to work now, so I can pay the tax money that the leftists need to destroy our society.

I have a problem with black people owning guns: The law abiding ones don't have enough of them to protect themselves.

2) Of all the violent crime......how much is propagated by PERMIT HOLDERS?
Not many at all. Here's the stats from Texas:
In 2001 there were 180 convictions of CHL holders from a total of 35,070 criminal covictions. That's 0.51064%. That's right; about 1/2 percent. For 157 convicted murderers, 1 was a CHL holder. For AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ther were 17 out of 2,259. For ASSAULT there were 54 out of 17,309 convictions. The only crime CHL holders were convicted of that was 100% was 25 convictions of UNLAWFULLY CARRYING HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER. They walked into a retricted area and had their gun on. Among law enforcement agencies in Texas, CHL holders have been called hyper-law abiding citizens. The DPS (Texas Highway Patrol) officer that stopped me once told me that he prefers to see the computer pop up with Texas CHL holder when he makes a stop. We've been pre-screened by not only Texas, but the FBI as well! He says that CHL holders are the most cooperative and friendly people he has contact with on a day to day basis. Bottom line: people that have a license to carry are much safer to be arround than the general population.

The crime rate in this country is caused by THE CRIME CULTURE. And prison populations are at an all-time high. No end is yet in sight.
To: Puppage
Florida and Texas held statistics on the crime rate of CCW permit holders.
It was generally thousandths of a percent that engaged in any crime at all.
Maybe a half dozen over the entire course of the survey for both states combined were permit holders committing gun crimes.
Florida stopped tracking them because there were too few crimes to justify the programs continued funding.
I'm not sure if Texas still tracks them.

You would THINK that this is self-evident. But in our dumbed down America, 2+2 can equal 3 or 500, depending on the needs of political correctness.

It doesn't just mean ya squeezed off a round when it wasn't warranted.

Did you ever noticed that the newspapers will report a shooting as "Automatic weapons kills 15 year old". If the kid gets run over they don't say "88 Buick Kills 15 Year old" they say "Drunk Driver Kills Kid". If the deed is done with a gun, the gun is to blame. If it's done with anything else it's the fault of the criminal.Well, of course. Who do you think dominates the media still?

I'm STILL trying to figure out how the quote should have read.
Liberals are people who kill babies while pardoning baby-killers?
Liberals are people who kill babies while calling soldiers baby-killers?
something else?
Please clarify... sounds like it could be a pithy slam if in its proper form.

Oh, yeah. Not only are we suffocating under "newspeak" but we are also mired in "newmath" in which the only statistics which can be quoted are those that exist nowhere but in the fecund imaginations of the Left.
