How would you explain a wobbling star (sun)? The hypothesis explored on the show seemed plausible to me.

A wobbling star may indicate a gravitational attraction, but that does not necessarily mean a gaseous blue giant with pink clouds, frozen volcanoes and evolving life.

They never said anything like that at all. Why are you misrepresenting the facts?

They were merely guessing at what was causing the wobble. The only reason they could come up with is a form of matter is quickly revolving around said star. Since they can detect the star moving side to side (or wobbling) that tells them two things:

1) The thing is moving around the star very fast (once every 4 days).
2) The thing is very big (big things = big gravity).

The only thing we have here, in our solar system, to compare to this situation is our large vacuum cleaner of a planet, Neptune. It happens to be a very VERY large blue gaseous planet with a lot of gravity. If Neptune were to get close enough to our star (the sun), and there was no equally opposing force, our sun would be wobbling too. It would also wobble faster as Neptune got nearer and nearer. They weren't trying to describe in detail the planet causing the wobble. They don't hide the fact that they will never be able to actually see the thing. For 1. it's way too far away, 2. it's always right next to a very big blinding bright sun, the planet is overwhelmed by the star. That's why they only know it's there by the wobble of the star.

I hope you only have comprehension problems and aren't simply being disingenuous to make an otherwise unsupportable larger point.
