Those of us who hope the war on terrorism is being won (although it's way too soon to assume terrorism).

Assuming it's not terrorism, then how about: Those of us who don't like to see historical/beautiful things/places destroyed.

I think the Frogs are as pathetic and untrustworthy as anybody. And I'd even go so far as to say "better them than us" given the effort we've put into this war and all of their attempts to thwart it. But I won't let that make me completely callous, I hope most others feel the same.

Yes, there could be. Very inadequate elevator system on the tower. Worst day of my life was when I was stranded on the tower waiting for an elevator with a crowd that was pushing and shoving so badly I almost had a panic attack. My daughter, who lived in Paris, explained that Europeans are not as polite as Americans are and have a different concept of personal space...in other words, they shove each other around all the time.

I don't find this amusing in the least. I would be as distressed to see the Eiffel Tower destroyed, as I would to see the Statue of Liberty destroyed, or any other famous building or monument around the world - the Transamerica Pyramid in SF, the real pyramids in Egypt, the Golden Gate Bridge... This is not amusing at all.
