Drug war terrorist scenario: Does the WO(s)D expose us to bioweapon attack?
self | July 17 2003 | Coloradan

The illegal drug trade has established thousands of underground people to serve as distributors of illicit substances, which people by the millions, lacking any knowledge, other than the assurances of criminals, about the exact contents of what they are ingesting, knowinginly inhale and inject into their bodies.

The caves of Afghanistan were found to contain heroin, as well as weapons and other customary tools of terrorists. America also supported the Taliban's efforts of drug eradication.

Suppose some shipments of drugs were assembled that had been spiked with anthrax or smallpox or other bioweapon.

Some of these would be intercepted, but likely much would not be - given the present price and consumption of drugs today. Some would certainly make it through and be consumed, especially in inner cities with high population density. This is the ideal point for introduction of contagious disease, and such an attack would nearly simultaneouly hit many major cities at once.

The Drug Warriors ensure that reputable, accountable companies with quality control procedures and inventory control are prohibited from manufacturing these drugs; they are banned for the children, for the addict's own good, etc.

But this leaves a giant opening of attack for a terrorist operation: the War On (some) Drugs produces a clandestine distribution network filled with people who already are well-trained (or, selected) to avoid law enforcement and who may also avoid seeking medical treatment for fear of getting busted.

The ability to spike a product that many people willingingly sniff or inject without knowing what, exactly it is, represents a huge security risk that may outweigh the present drug prohibition, and there are already proven links between drugs and terrorists as it is.

My question for the Drug Warriors is, is saving people from the stupidity of their actions worth the risk of terrorist attack that bio-weapon-spiked drugs presents?

How about the new highway named for Clinton in his home stste of Arkansas? It's a little crooked, and has a long yellow streak down the center. Be careful if you drive on it, it's a little slick.

Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America's shelves this week with "Clinton Soup, to honor one of the nation's most distingushed men". It consists primariy of a weenie in hot water.

Does the War On (some) Drugs present a security risk to this country, by serving as the route for bioweapon attack?

To the Drug Warriors, of course it is, anything to ensure that next govt. teat, er, I mean check, gets deposited.

The Drug Warriors should adopt the motto 'A steady paycheck at all costs!!'

Consider the War On (some) Drugs in light of the known intentions of terrorists to destroy our country. What cost are you willing to pay to continue the war?

So, you're suggesting that we legalize drugs in order to prevent some worthless POS drain on society from obtaining tainted drugs?

You have GOT to be kidding me!

Moral-liberal socialists like to spout their "harm reduction" mindset. Since people are going to go out and do things they shouldn't be doing anyway, and get hurt in the process doing it, therefore let's just legalize it and provide trained nurses and quality assurance specialists in a safe environment.

There are terrorists who when planting a bomb get blown up by their own infernal machine. We have said that bomb-making on the kitchen table is illegal, but some do it none the less, and get hurt in the process. Supposedly we need to legalize bomb-making, and have trained staff hold their hands so that they don't hurt themselves in the process, all in a socialist harm-reduction scheme, of course.

Let's make poetic justice illegal!

Are you forgetting that anthrax and smallpox are contagious? Who would you rather have oversee the production of the thousands of tons of drugs already entering the country: Ahmed Al-Nahiri Omar and his merry gang, or American Home Products, Merck, Pfizer, etc.?

Stop the presses! People who do things they shouldn't be doing, who do things which God says not to do, are getting hurt!

"Allow me to be irresponsible, and I'll allow you all to pay for the consequences of my irresponsibility."

On the contrary, "Disallow me from facing the direct consequences of my own irresponsibility, and thereby create a terrorist opportunity like none before."

Exactly.

And wasn't it posted on this board where Canada is opening up these "Compassion Centers Centres" where drug addicts can safely inject heroin with clean needles and under medical supervision?

Oh yeah, let's hope this idea catches on in the U.S. Next they'll be supplying the heroin (known content vs. impure "street" heroin), and will even provide it free to those who cannot afford it (ala the Swiss study, 1994-97).

I suppose these same people were the ones who told us that the way to deal with out-of-wedlock teen pregnancy was to provide the mothers with free health care, free housing, free food, free baby formula, and a monthly welfare check. That worked so well, let's do the same for drug users.

"Who would you rather have oversee the production of the thousands of tons of drugs already entering the country"

So you're suggesting that they would intentionally forego billions of dollars in drug profits in exchange for tainting the supply and killing off their source of revenue?

Did you come up with this idea while you were on drugs? Sounds like it.

Al Qaeda doesn't want to get rich, they want to destroy America. They are willing to fly themselves into buildings to kill us and destroy our infrastructure. Do you think they would pass up an opportunity to launch such a bioattack if they could? I don't.

On the other hand, American Home Products and other drug companies would rather keep their revenue base - and in any case have plants that are operated, owned, and inspected by American citizens, making it that much harder to slip unwanted things into their production line.

I ask again: who would you rather supply the tons of drugs already entering our country: criminals with Al Qaeda connections, or American businesses with profit in mind? I would prefer the latter - but people like yourself prevent that option. Your kind, apparently, would prefer the former.

Drug dealers don't care if a user of their product dies, there will always be another to take their place. And the billions on profits you mention is because of the WOD.

Oh yeah, let's hope this idea catches on in the U.S.

In Los Angeles the leftists on the city council (in other words, the city council) has a program to distribute "free" needles to the junkies.
