[Mars] Red Planet never closer than now

If the Martians want to invade, now would be the time. During the next few months, the Red Planet is making its closest pass by Earth in 50,000 years.

As it happens, the real invasion is from Earth. Five separate space missions are headed to Mars as the planet passes into "opposition" this summer. Opposition is when another planet lines up with the Earth and the sun.

Got binoculars? Mars should be a disk in them, small but definite disk. Steady the binoculars on something, porch railing, car, whatever.
