Free Republic: Not for the weak

Over the past couple of days, I have been witness to events and behavior that has moved me to stand up and address it.
I have seen people here taking a disagreement with Jim Robinson, and using it as an excuse to be belligerent and downright disrespectful towards him. Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members.
Well, now, I am fed up.
If you have a problem with what Jim says, fine. Nobody is expected to agree with everyone 100% of the time. But don't be a horse's tuchis about it, and don't go running someplace else just so you can call him a socialist or a Nazi because he is not in the mood for your foolishness and puts a permanent brake on it.
If you don't care about the way things are being run, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Just spare us the long and/or elaborate goodbyes, especially if you are doing it to annoy or irritate everyone else. In other words, don't go away mad, just go away.
But don't go to another site and call everyone here Bush-bots, socialists, or worse. It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode. Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.

Well because I am a Bush-Bot, and some folks here think he is turning or pushing a socialist agenda, that would make me a socialist too.

We've lost a lot over the last century or so, but one thing we have left and plenty of it is our vote. Use it don't lose it. And don't waste it either.Concur, sir.

I'll most likely hold my nose and vote for GW again, hoping that Jeb will be able to better convey the conservative message in '08. I'm putting my hopes on Jeb. Conservatives seem to have no one that can defend conservative principles and define the reasons to the American public why conservatism is better. Reagan was able to do this. My hope is that Jeb can do it better than his brother. Hopefully he is more conservative than his brother.
I'm more hawkish than even Bush on foreign policy, but domestically, I'm not impressed with his spending spree.

No need to form equivalency arguements with me or change the subject. Bush Sr. was rejected by conservatives.
But...I'll bite. Why was there a projected military reduction of 25% by Bush Sr.?
Answer:
The Soviets no longer had their large conventional forces for us to deal with.
Why did Clinton continue the reduction of the military while he increased the use of the military in peace keeping and war? How many engagements did he involve us in as compared to other presidents?

Thanks!!
Next time I'll know to add that </ sarcasm > HTML thingy.

We've lost a whole lot in just the past decade!
In California we as a people voted for and passed prop 187. It would have put a halt to this insane tax support of *millions* of illegal aliens. We won big! Overwhelmingly. It was a great victory. Later the government stepped in and declared our election illegal.
This is what we are up against.
And look at the results of this government action? The invasion and epic lawlessness has spread from coast to coast.
My problem is with the Republicans, is that that stand in silence, gawking at this titanic crisis.....This is one of the most dangerous, escalating crisis facing this nation. This is no second string, second rate issue.
If they would get some backbone and do and say what's right, they would have my full, 100 percent support.

Well, this is the turnover in the judiciary that is so desperately needed. There's no way we'll have anything but even MORE liberal activism from the judiciary if we allow the Democrats to return. Gotta keep them out for several more cycles. It's never been done before, but we've gotta try. Never say die.

Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members. At the very least, the mods have it coming to them. If you cant attack the mods, who can you attack? :-)

Request denied. You don't get to call the shots. Dont...dont dont. Dont do this, and dont do that. You're not the boss of us.
It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode.
So who died and made you Tim Robbins?
Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.
And when did all those people vote for you to speak for them? Cause I never heard anything about it.

We should be more tolerant of dissent, not less. Hey, I've been a member for a while and have donated to the site. But any site has room for improvement. There are times when posts are removed by administrators who then are unavailable when you query them why this happened. We've got a great thing but let's not become a contented cow.
To: Jim Robinson
Gotta keep them out for several more cycles. That is all well and good but I don't like being asked to give up my morals and beliefs to tow the party line. And if I point out the places where Bush and I differ, I shouldn't be treated as if I am the enemy. Nor should anyone else. But quite often that is what happens.
