Over the past couple of days, I have been witness to events and behavior that has moved me to stand up and address it.
I have seen people here taking a disagreement with Jim Robinson, and using it as an excuse to be belligerent and downright disrespectful towards him. Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members.
Well, now, I am fed up.
If you have a problem with what Jim says, fine. Nobody is expected to agree with everyone 100% of the time. But don't be a horse's tuchis about it, and don't go running someplace else just so you can call him a socialist or a Nazi because he is not in the mood for your foolishness and puts a permanent brake on it.
If you don't care about the way things are being run, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Just spare us the long and/or elaborate goodbyes, especially if you are doing it to annoy or irritate everyone else. In other words, don't go away mad, just go away.
But don't go to another site and call everyone here Bush-bots, socialists, or worse. It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode. Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.
BIG BUMP!
How did you resurrect this one?
Hey Houmatt, How you been? :-)
Some quirky research...;-)
If you "donated" money to your friend so that he could fix up his house, and he let you come over at any time to drink beer and watch TV, would you be a customer or a guest?
Ignore my previous, long out of date, question :-)
You said it yourself, it is a donation, not a purchase. You get no rights with your donation. You are in the same position as those who do not donate.
This could get interesting. :)
LOL...I can't believe you think Clintoon did better on deficits. He covered up terror attacks on this country while 9/11 forced us to go to war on Pres. Bush's watch. That's costing billions and 9/11 brought down our economy big time. Also, during Billy Jeff's lackadaisical watch, the corporations were filing bloated profit reports to the SEC and their shareholders, which was fine with the IRS because it fattened the tax take. Of course, when W came in office, the jig was up and it became apparent that Silicon Valley was really Silly Con Valley as the dot com bubble burst. And despite these HUGE hits, our nation's economy didn't sink because the President had the confidence of the majority of the people. You are a fool for still dreaming of the "good old days" under the most malicious president and his worst lady in our history.
Agree. Did I tell JimRob how grateful I am today?
Do you think that George Soros' contributions to the DNC doesn't give him a bit of swing?
However the 2005 Eaker also disagrees with the 2003 Eaker.
Sounds good to me.
LOL!!
I disagree with the old me too!
I know that if I could go back in time on several occasions I would kick my own ass!!
DUMBEST comment I've seen here in days. How asinine.
Same here. Is it evolution of our ideas or intelligent design?
As for contributions, they do give you a prospective benefit, but not an entitlement. It guarantees you nothing. But there is a potential for reciprocal 'respect'?
I had that happen a couple of weeks ago. I've been around for almost 5 years now, and I've heard complaints that FR tends to be full of cliques kind of like high school, but there are newbies (not all) who don't understand that coming into FR is just like joining a "real life" reading group or organization. You don't make big points by insulting the established, loyal members who've made their bones and you especially don't disrespect the owner of the group.
I am an admin on another site. www.houstonliberty.com.
This has changed my opinion. If a muslim donated $5000.00 it would rock, but it would not change the way the site is run. 5 million dollars wouldn't buy one the right to be anti-American there.
It would buy us a Hummer or two, but nothing else.
I have pinged the site owner as I am sure he agrees.
(Flyer rocks!)
When did he ever say that he was leaving?
He ran for president in 2004 too.
Where were you? ;-)
