The Tenet Fiasco - Discussion Thread
self
Posted on 07/12/2003 12:52:33 PM PDT by Cathryn Crawford
George Tenet's admission last night that it was his mistake that caused President Bush to use faulty intelligence in his State of The Union address is interesting at the same time as it is convienent. In the statement itself, which is lengthy and filled with reasons as to the intelligence failure, Tenet wholeheartedly takes responsility for his agency.
"Let me be clear about several things right up front. First, CIA approved the President's State of the Union address before it was delivered. Second, I am responsible for the approval process in my Agency. And third, the President had every reason to believe that the text presented to him was sound. These 16 words should never have been included in the text written for the President. "
On the face of it, this admission seems like the perfect solution to the growing problems for both the Bush and Blair administration. It's all CIA's fault, they can claim. But is that really viable?
On the face of it, perhaps. But Bush is the President. He has to take final responsibility, doesn't he?
If Bush can truly claim to know absolutely nothing, then don't we have a serious problem - wouldn't that imply that Bush is either incompetent or is simply not paying attention?
For discussion purposes - has Bush been conned by Tenet? And if he has, isn't that rather serious?
And if he wasn't conned by Tenet, what is the alternative?

I didn't say
ANYTHING SIMILAR TO
Rummy being the Anti-Christ.
The CLOSEST I got to that was suspecting him of being amongst a collection of back room puppet masters working to set up a world government which will end up ruled by the Anti-Christ.
And, probably a lot of well meaning globalists will be among the first exterminated as in the way.
But I suspect Rummy will be a survivor for longer than most somehow.

But I suspect Rummy will be a survivor for longer than most somehow. Tsk, tsk, Quix. How can you say that you don't think Rummy is a Christian? Haven't you and I gone around about this before? That is really a sad thing for you to say, when you have NO PROOF.

The other threads didn't pique my interest at all. Maybe they were toooooo . . . obtuse or something.
I agree it's a tempest in a teapot concocted to make Bush look bad.
And I state again that I believe there is plenty of evidence of the uranium seeking of Saddddam whether it's knowable at present or not.
I don't see it as Cat getting her head handed to her on a platter. I see all that noise as much ado about nothing, too.

Well, perhaps tiredness explains your post. I don't think Rumsfeld is fronting for globalists, nor is he a "puppetmaster," nor is he fronting for the anti-Christ.
Myself, I would be looking to Bill Clinton for that type of personality.

Let's see ... there's a stolen 727 flitting around Africa for weeks and weeks, yet everyone thinks it can be determined for certain that Iraq did or did not attempt to buy baby geiger food. Most reasonable and proactively discrete to assume they might have, don't you think? Yet to say we did or did not have a good report ... that's dog chasing tail stuff.

What a crock of self-a** kissing BS.

Oh, I think the globalists did as Von Braun asserted--set up the terrorism war; the Iraq war and the next one, the ET war. Guess I believe all that.
In any case, I believe the globalists have been working on all this long enough to be playing all sides against the middle.
Sure the Islamists are more in satan's camp with their demonic moon god worship and terrorism. But they are still just tools, pawns.
I'd call Rummy anything but a pawn. It's against his nature, background, backbone and religion, if he has any.

You apparently do not understand the meaning of the word "audacity." It is not negative in the context used. General Patton several times used this word to describe what he wanted from his commanders, and that was "audacity." In the Sicily campaign, Patton quoted Frederick the Great to Generals Bradley and Lucian Truscott of the Third Infantry Division: "L' audace, l'audace, tourjours, l'audace," meaning he always wanted his commanders to act audaciously in battle. This desire can be translated to Grand Strategy, which is Bush's responsiblity.
I think you are limiting the meaning of the word to expressions such as: "How dare you have the AUDACITY to say such a thing?" and believe that "audacity" is a negative trait of some kind. To refer to a plan as having "audacity" is not an insult.

I guess simple English has no more currency here.
I did NOT say Rummy = Anti-Christ--nor to MY MIND--close to that.
The CLOSEST I got to it was that he was likely part of a group of globalist puppet masters working to set up a one world government which will end up ruled by the AC.
I'd even prefer to be wrong about Rummy. I like too much about him. But my gut tells me not to trust him.

and the next one, the ET war And to think we are in an uproar over Liberia! Wait until the media learns about the next one.

If Bush can truly claim to know absolutely nothing, then don't we have a serious problem - wouldn't that imply that Bush is either incompetent or is simply not paying attention? No, Cathryn, the only thing that a rational person can infer from your scenario is that Bush is incompetent for not acting as a field operative, analyst and case officer while holding down the job as POTUS.
If you want to write about something that should be of interest to all, write about the people in the mass graves, how they got there and why the left and some on the right remain, to this day, disinterested in same.

"What say you, Ms. Crawford?"
I know what I say... Mom has a Major problem with this young lady and is digging anywhere and everwhere for grounds to attack her.
And this all she can come up with?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Perhaps you are right.
I hope he is a Christian.
I just have too many wary bells going off about him in such departments.
And my friend won't elaborate or even answer some of my questions about Rummy--which makes me more wary.
I also think Rummy is of the "take no prisoners" school of thought.
But darn it all, I still like him.

I think Bill and Shrillery have probably both tried to have sex with the Anti-Christ--or close to it.
I certainly think their power mongering would suck up to him knowing it was him.
I think they'd be honored to be his first rank henchmen--and have been practicing accordingly.
Yuk!
Still, they are too flawed and too overtly flawed. The AC will SEEM lily white and a Prince of Peace and qualified to be the Jewish Messiah for at least 3.5 years.

not acting as a field operative, analyst and case officer while holding down the job as POTUS. And, Bush is known as a delegator, he doesn't get into the nitty-gritty, but has his people do it for him, and submit their final opinion or report. Then, he acts. To expect him to do more, is foolish, especially given the broad scope of the War on Terror.
Not to mention, intelligence is rarely FACTS alone, often it is rumor, or suggestions, or inclinations, mingled with facts.
