When looking at the Democratic candidates, many people do not see the obvious. WHAT SOLUTIONS DO THEY OFFER? WHAT IDEAS? None. They offer emotional rhetoric, to stir up the people, nothing else.

So by the time the Sunday news shows out this as a huge DNC campaign, and not a news story, everyone will remember this commercial and attach the DNC to it - not Moveon.org or Win Without War.
DNC will be tainted for it in the next 48 hours, and then be foreced to defend it on the Sunday shows. Remember, it was only supposed to start running on Monday.

The RATS smell blood all right -- THEIR'S. This whole thing is an act of desparation, which they hope by spinning furiously, they can keep people from seeing the truth.
I think the White House is handling this just fine. There's a reason Powell made the comments in response on this issue -- Polls show he's actually more respected by the American public, and hence has greater credibility, than Bush himself. The trust factor enjoyed by Bush is high, but Powell's is astronomical.

The democrat criminal machine uses many avenues with which to undermine the nation's safety and the success of and our confidence in the honorable military personnel. Lest we forget, when the troops were in harms way in the Middle East, Lurch Kerry called for 'regime change' here in America. Aside from the obvious specious characterization of this Republic as a third-world dictatorship or a banana republic, what hitman Kerry inferred was an insult to the honorable military personnel, inferring they were what was propping up a 'dictator in America'! What? ... Yes! When Kerry compared the President to a Saddam Insane in Iraq, he cast the patina of dictatorship underpinnings upon our voluteer, honorable military. Not one journo pointed this out ... and when I tried to make the point here at FR, the reaction was underwhelming, a veritable 'Huh'?.
The democrat party hasn't a clue to the degree they endanger the nation and thus the citizenry as they seek to undermine this administration in ways that assault out Republic as ancillary consequence. THAT is why it is too soon to allow the demoicrats to hold control over the White House, the Senate, or the House. ... And it's about time to go nuclear with nominated candidates for judgeships!

Precisely. We already know many of the Dems never wanted to go to war against Saddam, even when all the intelligence pointed to Saddam having an accelerated nukes program. Now they're nitpicking about one comment (which in and of itself wasn't a lie -- "British intel reporting Saddam's efforts to purchase uranium from African countries"). When one steps back from the fevered rhetoric of the single-day news cycle, one comes to the conclusion that this is still a dangerous world, and that the Democrats cannot be trusted with the nation's security. Most Americans realize this.

I have not seen the ad, can you please explain what it shows/says?
Thanks.

And since Congress has oversight responsibilities over our intel community, the real question the press needs to ask tonight is, what did these Democrats in Congress know and when did they know it? This should be shouted from the rooftops!

Media is running a full-blown assault on POTUS. They must bring him down so they can congratulate themselves and delight in telling the electorate "see 43 met the same fate as 41" --- "both Bush's were 'out-of-touch' with the voters."

It was my understanding that it was supposed to run on commerical television Monday (the paid spots, not the free spots). I could very well have two entirely disconnected thoughts confused, so I can't stand by that for certain.
Monday makes sense because it will have week long traction, and by the time the story gets refuted or loses steam, the Dems will be on to something else, but this whole LIED idea would still be in everyone's mind.
I have to say, though, that the whole idea that a populace can be swayed has peaked. I really don't see how Clinton politics can work any more. Remember, the 2000 election was the first Presidential election where a majority of Americans had access to the internet either at home, through the library, or at work.
The media is jumping on anything to generate revenue, but as for hard news and information, as well as opinion, people to to the internet.
This is why I think this will back-fire. Especially with Dean's remark about Bush stepping down.
To: mabelkitty
Excellent. Thank you so much for explaining further. I did note that having this break on a Saturday might be good for the talk show circuit, but the viewship is lower because the people have lives to tend to.
What was Dean's comment?
I have been following the Thompson fiasco, Bush in Africa and the Iranian protests, so I missed what Dean said.

The former Vermont governor, who opposed the war, added: "The only other possibility, which is unthinkable, is that the president of the United States knew himself that this was a false fact and he put it in the State of the Union anyhow. I hope for the sake of this country that did not happen."
I found it.

I agree -- the press is in an all out attack mode right now! It is like a feeding frenzy of fish when you toss bread in the water.

Our President does not often address the press, to do so now, would give them even more power.I either did not state my thought clearly, or you misunderstood. NEVER would I suggest our President address the press. He should address the American People by way of an Address to the Nation. Going directly to the American People is the way I believe it should be done. The press can write about it, after the fact, and attempt to tell people what he said, but enough people will have seen it, there will be a good discussion on the streets, coffee shops, breakrooms and feed stores around the nation.
