I've been to the Limberlost. Incomparison to this area it is very flat. We're hilly and a lot more like Vermont. Northern Indiana is more like Kansas....flat.
But I am surrounded by state forest; complete with deer, cyote, turkeys, rattle snakes and other assorted wild life. Have my own fishin' pond covered with pink water lilies. SO I've mixed a little this with that!
(I'm old enough to be retired, but still working part time to pay for my habits.)

RE Your comments in #69--
Mike, if they locate WMD---we'll see a map with 49 states colored red---wouldn't that be great???!! (Massachusetts will go Democrat if Lucifer himself is the nominee).

I could not believe they tried to make an issue out of the "bring it on" comment!!
On our local afternoon drive-time talk radio program, the callers were backing Bush 100%, saying anyone who tried to make something out of the comment was so utterly stupid, it was laughable.
I hope the Dems continue this foolishness. I love it when they look like utter fools.

Lots of old prints and advertising..pictures of Victorian brides (my favorite!) and so on..linens, old baby booties, old tablecloths, hair combs..I really must have a yard sale one of these days! Wait!!! If you have a yard sale, I'm flying in!!! *L*

Add to that, he was NOTORIOUS for "mulligans"--to the point that reporters began to joke about it.

I have a ceramic plaque hanging above my desk that reads:
"Creative minds are seldom tidy" Helps me with those self-esteem issues! :-)

Thanks so much, Deb, for that link to the Cinncinati Enquirer. Good article!
I believe we all need to pray for our President and First Lady's safety on this trip to Africa!!

Well, as usual, I am just talking to myself here midday on the thread. Pippin, where are you? homeschoolmama? Anybody home? (I'll check back in later...) ...tip-toeing away...

Fly in for a garage sale? (pssssssssst Ms.B: There's ebay!!!) ;)
hoosiermama: In addition to my big kitchen goal, someday I want to be able to look out my home office window at a body of water. Pond or lake. Either will do. I'm not picky. (Love your setting and gardens!!! Love your gazebo -- which was a hilarious movie, but I digress....) ... Geneva, Indiana (a few miles away from me here on the west coast of Ohio) is the flatlands home of the Limberlost Museum, Gene Stratton-Porter's home.
Thundering AGAIN here! Despite having a UPS, I've had to have the computer off more hours this weekend than I'm sure it's been off for the prior entire year! Thunderstorms predicted here for the entire week, too!
rintense: Thanks for another Dose! (Happy belated Birthday to our wonderful president!)

"Creative minds are seldom tidy"
I have that sign somewhere, too! (It hasn't surfaced since the last move -- almost 3 years ago. LOL)
I also made a ceramic plaque that said: "Don't start vast projects with half-vast ideas!" ;)

Don't you have a pic you post sometimes that shows a red-headed little girl with pigtails or braids? (Or, as usual, am I confused again?)

Don't mind me, I'm in a bit of a fog! I couldn't think of that pic. BTW, That's Pippi Longstockings.

How are you liking Brands' book on Franklin? Haven't read it, but am curious how it compares to the latest one.
