Was Pat Brown more qualified than Reagan?
To: submarinerswife
I am sure Arnie could bend a few ears in the legislature.
To: submarinerswife
Absolutely not! No Gravitas.....(sarcasm - off).

Ah-nold is just as qualified to be Governor as any other cyborg, but let's face it -- he's going to be liberal about everything
except regarding the issue of the 2nd Amendment.
Perhaps in that case he'll be an advocate of personal use laser guided nuclear-tipped armaments.

There's no way he can promote "Terminator 3" and at the same time do ANYTHING against the 2nd Amendment. With all due respect, you are fooling yourself.
Have a look at any Hollywood type who's starred in a shoot-em-up film. Almost without exception[*] they are ALL anti-Second Amendment.
Bottom line: just because Ahhnold has been in a bunch of gunslinging films doesn't mean his politics are in sync with gun owners or the Second Amendment. His public statements have made that plainly apparent. And if he were elected and acted on those anti-2A public statements, the Left would not criticize him for hypocrisy; they'd hail him as a "reasoned man."

* - Kurt Russell, Charlton Heston and a handful of other actors are the exception, not the rule.

Thanks for this link.
Haven't had time to investigate the entire site, but I found a political quiz that tells you where you stand philosophically. I tested 60% Libertarian.

" What is libertarianism?
Decide for yourself."
Actually, I was looking for an explanation or definition of libertarianism. I was more interested in why you thought that fit Arnie OR Kalifornia....to a T or otherwise.

Live and let live...but take responsibility for your actions and their consequences.
It's not possible to impose a single moral code on as diverse a population as inhabits our state but most people can agree that you should carry your weight.
This may not seem to be the case given the welfare abuses, illegal aliens, etc. but I think it is.

I don't know.

There's a pretty big difference between real-life 2nd amend, and the movies.

Gee, I wonder why Tom McClintock doesn't get a poll question like this, but Arnold does? It's all about Name recognition.
Arnold is no more qualified to be Gub then Ralph Nader. Never held elected office. Never proposed a budget.
Yeah, some catch California, Suck up the swill!
This is what the media is feeding the masses these days. Pap!

I got your meaning without the correction...and my previous post was meant as a response. I find Arnold's social position to be best described as live and let live but take responsibility...and that seems to me what Californians can agree on.
To: ex-Texan
Thanks so much for this info - I knew he had a degree, but I couldn't find out what it was.
I'm still partial to Tom McClintock, but if Ahnold runs, it will be a difficult choice.

Question:"Poll: Is Arnold qualified to be Governor?"
Response: No.
Comment: How has that little fact ever stopped the American people from electing some hack! Especially over the last 40 years or so, i.e. Clinton!

Poll: Is Arnold qualified to be Governor? The question should be, is anyone qualified to be Governor of California? The second question should be, does anyone really care?
As for Arnold, he's probably the least qualified, and the most likely to win. And what does that say about California?
