Per the California state Constitution, he seems to be, if he has been a resident there 5+ years:

ARTICLE 5 EXECUTIVE

SEC. 2. The Governor shall be elected every fourth year at the same time and places as members of the Assembly and hold office from the Monday after January 1 following the election until a successor qualifies. The Governor shall be an elector who has been a citizen of the United States and a resident of this State for 5 years immediately preceding the Governor's election. The Governor may not hold other public office. No Governor may serve more than 2 terms.

On a personal level both he and his wife are top-notch.
He has national name recognition which translates to great power.
Socially, he's libertarian which suits California to a T.
I'm not sure of his positions on economic issues but he can't be worse than Davis.
Concerns about rakish past are silly. He'll handle it better than Bush handled his. He's indominatable. He's extremely popular.
He can win.

He has a real MBA earned at USC. He has made a fortune in real estate investments. I met Arnie back casually about 1985 or 1986 an he has a wicked sense of humor. He is all business but likes to joke around.

Maybe he can win. Stranger things have happened.

At this time Mickey Mouse could govern this state better than Gray Davis. If Arnie's going to be the choice, I'll vote for him.

In the USA the only qualification needed is the vote. (not the bought or illegal votes like socialist dems of course!)

As much as I respect Arnold as an actor and a proponent for fitness, I have to give him a thumbs-down as a Republican candidate due to his stand on the Second Amendment (he's pro-gun control) and slightly left-of-center views on social programs (while touting fiscal conservatism).

Besides, I think Jim Robinson would do a better job! :)
